Sometime in the 80s or early 90s, I read a story about a kid who had a robot/android twin. I'm pretty sure they were in space, maybe on a large spaceship. The villain was after them and wanted to throw the kid into (I think it was acid) to get rid of him. The robot switched places with him and I think they tricked the villain into getting in the container/pool/whatever because the robot appeared to enjoy swimming in the liquid. I've asked on Reddit and a couple other places in the past, but no dice. Does anyone recognize the story? Thanks for your help!
