I just finished The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafron. Completely amazing book!! I happened to discover this book because I saw the fourth book in the series being sold online. I wasn't sure if the books could be stand alones or if I needed to read them in order, so I got them all. (This book could be a stand alone.)

I love the kind of books that grab you within the first few paragraphs. I couldn't put it down. And if it wasn't the story that got me, it was the amazing quotes throughout.

It's a story about a bookshop owner taking his son to a secret location that houses rare books. Daniel is allowed to pick any one book. He picks a book that turns out to have a mysterious history and written by someone also with a mysterious past.

The Shadow of the Wind is full of twists and turns and written in a way where we get bits of the story from different perspectives that neatly comes together. There are characters you can't help but love and wish you knew better.

I cannot wait to start his next book: The Angel's Game.

You won't regret it! I was told the second book seems a little off topic for being in a 4 book series but I should trust the author because it all comes together.

Nidhi Kumari I too liked Shadows of the Wind very much and would like to continue the trilogy, I hope to read The Angel ‘s Game sometime with this group.

We could set that up in Book Buddies. I'm caught up in a few books now, but want to plan for September?

Nidhi Kumari Yes. I am planning to read it for a long time but it doesn’t win a poll because it’s a series, and alone I keep on postponing it for eternity lol. Buddy read will be very good idea.
