Just bought it! This will be my first group read on GoodReads :-)
I just read this book about six months ago, but I will be lurking in the thread to see how everyone likes it. :)

At HA, we consider it a good day when we add books to someone's reading pile. It's what we do best! :)

Had finished this book before and gave it 2 stars. If want to read my review it's down here:

Oooo! This has been on my TBR pile for a LONG time! XD I can't wait to read this one. I have some books I need to hurry up and finish up first. :D
The book that turned me onto James A. Moore, now one of my favorite authors of horror and grimdark fantasy. I read this book every 2 years or so, think I'll re-read again next month.
Wow I totally missed the vote lol so I am glad everyone else has excellent taste! This looks like fun!
Can we just admit that the cover art is gorgeous. I know you're not supposed to read (or buy) a book for its cover . . . but come on.

I admit to buying books for covers on occasion... ;)

I love this book. I read it just a few years ago. I loved it so much that I purchased a few more books by Jeff Strand.
I agree the cover art is fantastic! I am often swayed by a cover. I ordered and will join in on this read as well :)
It looks like this one is drawing some newcomers in. I'm not exactly a newcomer but it's been a while since I've participated. Looking forward to it, this one looks perfect for me since I love creature stories.
I fully intended to join the group read. Got the kindle book and just wanted to read a couple of pages, you know, a “peek”... well, it grabbed me by the throat and now I find myself almost finished with the book. 😳 I meant well, but couldn’t help myself. No spoilers here except this has been a DELIGHTFUL experience! 🤗 I promised myself that with the next group read book...I won’t open it. Not even a peek. It’s too risky.
Just got my copy. Cant wait to get started. The question is, will I actually wait until March to start it ?
I have read + own a LOT of books by Jeff Strand, including this one. However, this one just...did NOT work for me. It was (for me) not scary and felt more like a humorous/comedic novel...or a parody of what horror novels are usually like. This was the ONE time Jeff Strand let me down.
So, sadly - I just cannot do a re-read to join with this group read. Sorry. I DO hope, though, that everyone else loves it and does NOT agree with my opinion, actually!
Happy Reading, HA! Good luck. --Jen from Quebec :0)
I'm loving this one so far. If you read Jurassic Park and thought "You know, this just sounds like a bad idea", then you'll probably read this and say "Ok this idea makes Jurassic Park look not so bad." lolThe story keeps making me think of the end of the film "Cabin in the Woods" when you get to see all the monsters.
Great choice for this month's read. I read this a few years ago and this has become one of my all-time favorites! I just loved everything about this book and one day I plan to read it again. I will be following along so I hope all of you enjoy itand have a good time reading and discussing this terrific story. What a wild, imaginative and creative book!!
it's been on my TBR Shelf for a while. now would be a good time to read it with this fantastic group .
Just got the book on kindle! This’ll be my first group read since joining, so I’m looking forward to it :)
I read a little this morning. I'm on page 55 and really enjoying it so far. I see what some are saying about it reminding them of 'Cabin in the Woods'. Meeting the monsters are fun :)
The prologue sucked me in like a sweet, sweet coffee addiction. I paused at the start of Chapter 1 to officially continue reading tomorrow, when March begins.
Once I started I had a hard time stopping, so I've already finished which has to be some kind of record for me. Overall I really enjoyed it, it was pretty much just what I was expecting which is in no way a bad thing. Now, I have to ask the group. If the tour was real, would you take it? Disregard the bad stuff that happens in the book and let's say the tour has been running safely a few years.
I still probably wouldn't, but I'm wondering if any of you other horror fans would?
