At HA, we consider it a good day when we add books to someone's reading pile. It's what we do best! :)

Benjamin Cross | 16 comments Got my copy! Looks fun, and I'm gonna make a start this evening!😀

Ami Morrison | 234 comments Oooo! This has been on my TBR pile for a LONG time! XD I can't wait to read this one. I have some books I need to hurry up and finish up first. :D

Scott Neumann (scottneumann) | 480 comments The book that turned me onto James A. Moore, now one of my favorite authors of horror and grimdark fantasy. I read this book every 2 years or so, think I'll re-read again next month.

Zen (zzmarie) | 39 comments Got it on KU. I hope to get it started this weekend.

NicholeReadsWithCats | 8 comments I can be hit or miss with Jeff Strand...but I think I will join in since this is available on KU.

I read this YEARS ago--one of my first from James A Moore. I'll definitely be rereading.

Krystal (krystallee6363) | 878 comments Wow I totally missed the vote lol so I am glad everyone else has excellent taste! This looks like fun!

Frances Carden | 60 comments Can we just admit that the cover art is gorgeous. I know you're not supposed to read (or buy) a book for its cover . . . but come on.

I admit to buying books for covers on occasion... ;)

message 24: by Zain (new) - rated it 5 stars

Zain | 340 comments I love this book. I read it just a few years ago. I loved it so much that I purchased a few more books by Jeff Strand.

message 25: by Paul (new) - rated it 3 stars

Paul Preston (pbanditp) | 27 comments I bought this last year and haven’t read it so I’ll be joining in!!

Shelly (birmshelly) I agree the cover art is fantastic! I am often swayed by a cover. I ordered and will join in on this read as well :)

Charlotte Franchi | 2 comments I’ve now got it on kindle! All ready to go!

Quentin Wallace (quentinwallace) | 175 comments It looks like this one is drawing some newcomers in. I'm not exactly a newcomer but it's been a while since I've participated. Looking forward to it, this one looks perfect for me since I love creature stories.

Frances Carden | 60 comments I've already started. So far, enjoying it . . . but I have some questions about that tram track!

message 30: by Jill (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jill | 17 comments I fully intended to join the group read. Got the kindle book and just wanted to read a couple of pages, you know, a “peek”... well, it grabbed me by the throat and now I find myself almost finished with the book. 😳 I meant well, but couldn’t help myself. No spoilers here except this has been a DELIGHTFUL experience! 🤗 I promised myself that with the next group read book...I won’t open it. Not even a peek. It’s too risky.

Krystal (krystallee6363) | 878 comments What an opener!! I will try and save the rest for March! XD

message 32: by Jana (new) - added it

Jana | 1 comments Started reading. So far so good....

Janet | 35 comments Just got my copy. Cant wait to get started. The question is, will I actually wait until March to start it ?

Jeremy | 4 comments it's a book of manageable size and a page turner.

Benjamin Cross | 16 comments I'm a few chapters in now, and things are starting to get real for the tourists! Ben

Jen from Quebec :0) (muppetbaby99) | 397 comments I have read + own a LOT of books by Jeff Strand, including this one. However, this one just...did NOT work for me.

It was (for me) not scary and felt more like a humorous/comedic novel...or a parody of what horror novels are usually like. This was the ONE time Jeff Strand let me down.

So, sadly - I just cannot do a re-read to join with this group read. Sorry. I DO hope, though, that everyone else loves it and does NOT agree with my opinion, actually!

Happy Reading, HA! Good luck. --Jen from Quebec :0)

message 37: by Lora (new) - rated it 4 stars

Lora Milton | 202 comments Oooh, this one is already on my Kindle! I'll start reading! :D

Quentin Wallace (quentinwallace) | 175 comments I'm loving this one so far. If you read Jurassic Park and thought "You know, this just sounds like a bad idea", then you'll probably read this and say "Ok this idea makes Jurassic Park look not so bad." lol

The story keeps making me think of the end of the film "Cabin in the Woods" when you get to see all the monsters.

Luvtoread (Trying to catch up) | 1944 comments Great choice for this month's read. I read this a few years ago and this has become one of my all-time favorites! I just loved everything about this book and one day I plan to read it again. I will be following along so I hope all of you enjoy itand have a good time reading and discussing this terrific story. What a wild, imaginative and creative book!!

Kimberly (kimberly_3238) | 7707 comments Mod
I can't wait to re-read this one! I may start a day or two early...

Teagan (imaginary1x) I’ve just started it a few days ago. I’m intrigued already :)

message 42: by Jenny (new)

Jenny it's been on my TBR Shelf for a while. now would be a good time to read it with this fantastic group .

message 43: by Natalie (new)

Natalie | 13 comments Just got the book on kindle! This’ll be my first group read since joining, so I’m looking forward to it :)

Michelle | 307 comments I read a little this morning. I'm on page 55 and really enjoying it so far. I see what some are saying about it reminding them of 'Cabin in the Woods'. Meeting the monsters are fun :)

Netanella | 572 comments The prologue sucked me in like a sweet, sweet coffee addiction.

I paused at the start of Chapter 1 to officially continue reading tomorrow, when March begins.

Netanella | 572 comments Chapter 13

(view spoiler)

Quentin Wallace (quentinwallace) | 175 comments Once I started I had a hard time stopping, so I've already finished which has to be some kind of record for me. Overall I really enjoyed it, it was pretty much just what I was expecting which is in no way a bad thing.

Now, I have to ask the group. If the tour was real, would you take it? Disregard the bad stuff that happens in the book and let's say the tour has been running safely a few years.

I still probably wouldn't, but I'm wondering if any of you other horror fans would?

Frances Carden | 60 comments Definitely wouldn't take it; Jurassic Park (and the fact that the park was opened, what, three times now?) has taught me quite the lesson!
