2021 Series Group Read - Nominations & Voting
I’ll start things off. I nominate Amos Decker by David Baldacci. It currently has six books in the series.

I also nominate Tony Hill/Carol Jordan by Val McDermid. It has 11 full length books and two novellas.

I'll second this. I've read the first book and I did enjoy it.

I think there are actually more than 15 books in this series...great nomination!

26 with the 27th due later this year.

This is a fantastic series. Alas, I am up to date with it (until the next one comes out).
I'm going to nominate a historical mystery suspense series. I've read book 1, loved it and intend to continue. This one is a bit different, but most definitely a suspense thriller. There are 16 (or soon will be) books. Friends rave about this series.
Sebastian St. Cyr Series by C.S. Harris.

If it’s the David Wolf series by Jeff Carson, it looks like there are 14 and one prequel novella.

Thanks wanted to mention it and it's full of action.

Book #19 was published two weeks ago.

It more than fits the criteria!

I love this series! I can't remember if we had a buddy read of it in another group though 🤷🏻♀️

We had a series group read of this one in the 2-3-4 Challenge Group when there were about 12 or 13 books in the series. Love it!

Thanks Jonetta!
I knew we had read it together somewhere :)
Christine, you’re limited to a maximum of three nominations. You’ve made 5 so you’ll have to delete two. Should I ignore your most recent 2 nominations?

I'd love a reason to get back to this series! Val McDermid is such a fantastic writer.

I love this series. Got waylaid after the third book and would love to resume, too.

I love this series and would be happy for an excuse to read them all over again!

I agree, and I'm not all the way through the series; I'd go back to the beginning and read these with our group.

These are great books, too!
Nominations are closed and it’s time to vote! The poll closes on March 13.

When 5 out of 25 people are picking the books for the next two years.... just asking if maybe we should have the top 4 or 5 for a second vote...or do you think it would not change the outcome?

I'm with you on that idea.

Even though one series is leading at this point, there were quite a few to choose from with many garnering only one vote.
To answer your direct question, Cindy, the decision to have a second round depends on what the outcome looks like at the end of the first round. I’ve normally come back to the group to support or offer alternatives to my proposed next step. It’s immensely helpful that you weighed in early.
I also appreciate your comments, too, Jo Ann & Anita. It’s always helpful getting points of view early on.
I agree with having a second round, which looks like it’s either the top 4 or 7.

I just think with so many 1 vote series we need to narrow it down and come to a better consensus. Especially if we’re talking another gonzo big series like this one that takes years to get through.

Nominations are now open to recommend a series. It should be from the Mystery/Suspense/Thriller genre or any one of its many sub genres. We will read one book a month and the series should have five or more books, including novellas.
We will continue our monthly group reads separately from this group series read. This may also be an opportunity to continue some of the series we started through the monthly group reads.
Please include the series and author names with your nomination. Links to the series are helpful but optional. Each member may recommend up to three series.
Nominations will close at midnight EST on March 2 and we will open the voting on March 3. Depending on the number of nominations, we may have more than one round of voting.
Let the nominations begin!
