Hello everyone,I am Darsh. I am a PhD student in Applied Math. I started writing poetry when I was 14. But as college life hit, I lost myself. One day, I found my old poetry book and after reading some poems, I realized that I need introspection. That's when I started reading books. I have had many emotional lows in life I have lived so far. So I have read self-love and philosophy books.
I hope to learn more about myself by engaging with this group and all the lovely people. I also hope to improve my reading taste.
Thanks!

Hi all! I'm Stacey, I live in Northamptonshire, UK with my beautiful master (aka my cat.) I have always read a lot but I'm very new to Goodreads. I'm open to all sorts of genres but recently I've been really keen on psychological thrillers so I'm looking forward to seeing any recommendations!

Hi Stacey! Have you read Verity by Colleen Hoover? I read it a year ago -ish? Very psychological and I haven't been able to ready anything else by her. Not because it was bad, but because I am scared of everything! Another book I love with amazing twists is The Guest List by Lucy Foley.

Thanks Jeni! I haven't read any Colleen Hoover... I'm probably totally wrong but my baby stepsister was raving about a Colleen Hoover book and said it was popular on TikTok so I'd automatically assumed it was for younger audiences than me 😂 I've had my eye on Lucy Foley as well, thank you 😊

In a past life (whilst in college) I was an avid reader, writer, and reviewer. Now I'm--most often--just a tired international teacher. Somewhere in the middle of all this I've lived in Turkey, China, and Thailand and visited 37 countries. ^_^
As a reader I prefer 20th century literature and especially post-modern and migration literature from Europe and the Middle East. However, I now mostly read texts which align with what I'm teaching in some capacity.
Looking forward, I'm super excited about reading more sociology-adjacent texts (prepping for my master's degree) and also reading fiction from South America and Africa. If you have any recommendations, let me know!
Thanks all,
A.
