YA/ Adult Fantasy Medieval series. Hero is Conan type character, goes on adventures with small crew. They get magically trapped in amber pillar? by a wizard. Read late 1980s/early 1990s.

It's a typical late 80s fantasy novel series. Hero is a conan type character with a small crew in his party. They go on adventures and at one point the antagonist at the time catches some members of the party in a pillar of amber (i think). They are stuck for I want to say 15 years? I recall a line with the hero mentioning a terrible nose itch he had for years and leg cramps (weird I recall that I know).

I think they escape when one of the partys children (now grown up) uses some spell or something to release them.

Sorry I lacked specifity. Late 80's early 90's. It was relatively short per novel, so I would assume teens and possibly an adult serial?
