Does anyone think a follow-up to this book would have made up for the ending?

I think there was supposed to be a third book following this one that never ended up happening probably due to poor reception. That could explain why the book ended the way it did. I honestly found both the ending in this book and in Bliss unsatisfying. Does anyone think a third book would have brought the story regarding the events in Crestview Academy to a more satisfying conclusion?
YES.
I'm trying to figure out of all the unanswered questions is Myracle's way of messing with our heads/creeping us out more (in the good way; she's an awesome writer) or if there was intended to be a third Crestview book. Titling a two book series with numbers is not cool.
