SOLVED. SciFi Generalist versus Specialist Illness; generalist has been assigned to the crew of an exploration ship, probably to terraform or develop a promising planet. The other specialist crew member mock him as they are all renowned experts.

A generalist has been assigned to the crew of an exploration ship, probably to terraform or develop a promising planet. The other specialist crew member mock him as they are all renowned experts in their own field.
Upon arrival crew members start to develop illness and cannot find the cause cure until our Generalist becomes involved. He uses counter intuitive thinking from a systems perspective and resolves the issue.
