No despair on my part. I was just keeping up with my promise to remind E I could be a really trouble maker if she tries to steal my partner in crime in future team challenges.*giggles*

That's an evil giggle if I've ever heard one.

Oh I let out some evil giggles a lot.
Hi Mods,So I signed up yesterday and am not yet on the master list. Should I keep checking back or are you adding new players en masse when sign ups close on the 10th?

Hi Bobbi! Are you a challenge junkie like me? :D
I think the mods will update the sheet soon as long as your signed up. :)

I'll be trying to make the sheets for new sign ups once a day, though that does depend a bit on how busy real life is! I know how much everyone wants to get going asap with challenges.

I'll make sure E gets the message - think she's concentrating on UNO atm.

I really am, Alyana haha. I had to make a centralized thread with links to everything just to keep track.
Is there a rule about when the book needs to be started? Can I use books I started in February but finished in March?

Since this is a competitive challenge, they have to be started after 00.00 utc on March 1st.
If you start books in March but finish them in April, they can be used for April.

Hi Mods,Sorry, but I'm going to have to drop out. I'm fairly competent with spreadsheets (have to be for my job) but no matter how hard I try, I can't edit. My only "computer" until I get my school loans this fall is my kindle fire. I don't think that's the problem though, since I have no problem with the sheet for Around the World.
This is my first time in this kind of challenge. I have a question. I looked at the leaderboard for my category (Edge) and noticed that I had 50 points but had not read anything yet. It looks like there are formulas to fill in the numbers but I'm not sure where my 50 came from.

For the taskRead a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as school - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable
would "high-school" or "school books" work?
Hi Mods, I've also got an Edge leaderboard question. I have read 3 books which come up on the all players spreadsheet but it is showing 0 points on the Edge one. I don't know anything about spreadsheet stuff, did I do something wrong?
Nothing I like better than searching for those tasks, so loving the Challenge so far.

The formulas on the leaderboards have been corrected and doublechecked. They should all be working now.

Yes for school books, but no to the addition of any other word.

Chances are Im doing something stupid, but my spreadsheet says view only and it wont allow me to do anything with it. Am I missing something?

Thank you!
If I sign up now, can I include books that I have read during March already (so started after the 1st March and finished before today)? I wasn't able to get onto a computer to look at this challenge until today (the messages don't open on phone).

Yes you can use them. Sign ups still open until 10th March.

It should be working now. Shout if not.

      IMPORTANT
If you are having problems accessing your individual spreadsheet, the most likely reason is that only invited email addresses can edit them, but anyone with the link can view it. If you want to use it linked to an email address that isn’t the one you signed up with either invite yourself to become an editor or let the mods know so we can make your sheet available for anyone to edit.

Mine's working for me now. Thank you again for the help, Sophie!
I think the formula for my ranking in the edge leaderboard needs to be edited as it’s giving an error message at the moment. No rush though, I just wanted to let you all know for whenever you get the chance to check on it

in regards to the requirements for each group, will you be checking these are met? and if not is their a penalty?for example if someone reads only high point books but misses out on the 10 and 20 points they were required to read?
thank you :)

I will be checking through. If the requirements aren't met, the individual wouldn’t be eligible as a winner of their category.

Do we have a rough idea of when the tasks for the second round will be available? I'm itching to do the planning thing again, lol!

I've got the tasks just need to assign points, so by the middle of next week

Yay! thank you :D
In my "April tasks" tab it is just a copy of the April spreadsheet. Does that mean I get to make up my own (haha ).Here is my spreadsheet link:

Ooh oops - I also wanted to add my thanks for the challenge. I enjoy it - it's fun finding books, and it was also fun participating in the books of the month.

      Thanks everyone!
The spreadsheets for Out of The Box will be fixed soon - missed a step in sorting them...
Audrey Jane, I'm with you on the spreadsheet thing! Rapidly learning what they can do.

Question about 'page numbers add to' questions. Can we listen to the audio and use default pages, or does it have to be a print copy?

You can listen to the audio and use default. Not wanting to make things too complicated.

Awesome, thanks! Print is still problematic in lockdown, lol.
found a slight issue with the spreadsheet. The task numbers in the dropdown box for April only go to 150, and the task options go to 169 ;)(I have happily moved my book to a different task, but someone else may have their heart set on one of them, lol)

I got carried away with the tasks...
I'll work out what needs to be changed and post instructions for everyone to follow if they want to do those tasks.
