      I thought he was too obvious to be a suspect. And, I didn't understand the suicide attempt at all. Was it because he didn't want his wife to find out about his affair with Deanna?

I think this was a red herring to throw the reader off what was really happening.
        
      This was definitely a big red herring. I agree with you, Lisa, about why he tried to commit suicide. I thought it a stretch but sex crimes brand a person in a really bad way. So, maybe, but it was still a thin excuse.
    
  
  
  
      I suspected him even though it was obvious. It was the only reason I could think that he would attempt suicide. Later, when he filed charges against Kim and skipped, I was sure it was him.
