Gemma is introduced into Kim’s world by an attempted robbery right outside of her house. Were you ever suspicious of her until it was revealed that she was working for Alex? How did she elude Kim’s internal radar?

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments Gemma really wasn't on my radar at all. I thought she was someone who Kim would help out. I figured she would pop up in a later book.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) Again, not at all. I thought she was brought into the story as someone Kim was going to "save". Sort of what she did with Barney the dog that no one wanted. Alex was right on target when she realised that Kim would be drawn to help a girl like Gemma. Unfortunate how it worked out because Kim would have been a really good mentor for Gemma to have moving forward. Maybe we will see her again..

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1205 comments I had no idea, even when she and Shane were at Kim's place at the same time.

I had no clue until Kim declared it at the end. I never had any suspicions at all. That was a BIG twist.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments I didn't have a clue. Like Lisa I thought she was going to be someone Kim saved or mentors. I don't think Kim picked up on her because she was to distracted with her mother's parole and Alex's tricks.

That’s a good point, Sharon, because Kim normally has a good sense about inauthentic people.

Lynn (ftbooklover) I didn't know either, but I agree with Sharon, Kim was distracted by Alex. Even Alex says she feels sorry (even though she really doesn't) for Kim's latest victim because she knows Kim won't be able to give the case her full attention.
