No, please everyone, no Steven King! He gets picked all the time, please give other authors a chance.

My favorite is when someone says "you probably read it wrong!" lol.. sometimes its not the thing you want to read, not the right time, etc.. give it a shot again, its also not very long so it reads quickly.

I’m definitely a mood reader 😳
Came across this and I'd love to add it, personally to me it's more horror than sci-fi.
Who Goes There?
by John W. Campbell Jr.,
"Who Goes There?" The novella that formed the basis of "The Thing" is the John W. Campbell classic about an Antarctic research camp that discovers and thaws the ancient, frozen body of a crash-landed alien. The creature revives with terrifying results, shape-shifting to assume the exact form of animal and man, alike.

I second this Kasia, The Thing is one of my favourite movies but I've never read the book from which it was spawned.

I've been wanting to read this story for a long time, if just to see how much it's like all the movies made from it.

I might get a copy just in case haha, because I really do want to read it. Also scary crap happening in Antarctica, I mean what's not to love? It's like the weather is one of the bad guys too. ( Apologies to Antarctica, love you!)

Might be a good one for a buddy read too if it doesn't make it through the selection process!

Ooo yaaas :) I've been a terrible buddy reader the last week ( Sorry Alan, sorry Melissa!) but I'm trying, I promise. This is def a nice one and only 160 pages I think.
Now I need to read this one! +1
Who Goes There?. And I'm up for that buddy read if it isn't chosen, too!
