Definitely a page dedicated to escaping spiders and another one with lava. May have taken place in a jungle. The cover may have been green. I think the ultimate goal was to find the treasure.

Who is the main character (that you pretend to be)? Location?

Are the answers to the puzzles printed at the back of the book (upside-down)?

Is it something like this? Puzzle jungle?
There are loads of different ones aswell so you might remember lava from one and spiders from another. I used to love them.

Is there any chance it was "The Green Kingdom," from the Childcraft series? It was a book about botany, but one of the chapters was a maze/game where you had to choose the right answer to find your way through a forest. On one of the pages is a pit trap full of giant spiders, and on another page is not lava but a sort of tar pit. The cover of the book was green. It's available on Archive.org and the game is pages 179-194. Childcraft was huge in the 80s and 90s.
