I read this book a long time ago, 2013-2014. It was in English and iirc the cover had a dragon-girl atop a hill looking over a village. It most likely is for YA, based on what I remember and when I read it.

Random details I remember bout the plot:

1. There's this father who decided to create a dragon girl and raised her as if she was his daughter (idr why). However, she had to stay in their house/woods around in order to keep her hidden, as, ya know, she's a dragon girl.
2. She gets curious and puts on a cloak to visit a village nearby, accidentally meets a boy (I think he was a "street rat" kinda person).
3. The girl grows fond of the boy and helps him with his quest (idr the quest)
4. There are points where the girl is talking to a full-on dragon, getting advice for the stuff happening

I remember this was the first book that impacted me in middle school, and I've been trying to find it for a while and re-read it to see if it was just nostalgia or if was actually a good book.

(view spoiler)[In the end, something happens where the village was under a huge threat, thanks to that mission the boy took them on, so in order to save the village, the dragon girl uses her magic to create a barrier, but in return she dies/becomes a statue. The statue stays in the village center forever, to remember what she did. (hide spoiler)]
