I read this around 2009-2010, I think. The main character is a boy with no name (his legal guardian just calls him “boy”). I jus remember one scene where they go to this guys house. The man has like, a bunch of spliced taxidermy animals & he shows them like, little spliced dragons. The man promises the guardian to exchange information if he could bring the chimera to life. The guardian ends up tricking the man by electrocuting the chimeras’ muscles so they would move, though they aren’t really alive.
