This was one of the first Science Fiction books I ever read.
In this book, the main character wakes far in the future and finds that his feet have been broken off as the doctors where wheeling him around in a frozen state. All of the characters speak Jive as it was decided that it would be the best version of English as to not offend anyone in this society.
Any ideas?

Do you know if it was a new book at the time you read it, or an older one? Short, medium, long, or doorstop? Do you recall where it was set (US, UK, Australia)? How or why he went into stasis? How/why he woke up? When you say "It was decided" do you mean the author decided, or characters in the book had decided?

The book was fairly short. It was located in my middle school library. I seem to recall he was sick and that is why he chose stasis. The woke him when they knew he could be cured. Society had decided it was best to speak the way they did.
I do not recall where it was set. I thought the title had the word Final in it but after hours on the Goog, I found nothing.
