Might be a kid's book on mythical creatures

The book was small square and thin. I read it in the mid to late 90's. I remember there were listed two kinds of unicorns, the one commonly know and an unicorn I had not heard of before that lived in the Middle East and could cause an earthquake by running.

So it was a guidebook / encyclopedia type book about mythical creatures rather than a novel? It might be on this list - Bestiaries
