Welcome to the group Rebecca. I'll read just about anything but romance is what I read the most nowadays.

I have been an avid reader all my life but only started reading romances a few years ago. Now, I read little else. I like most subgenres and tropes, but I'm a real sucker for contemporary May/December romances. I have been married to my own "December" hero for 20 years, so perhaps I am biased. He was also a single dad when we met, another favorite trope of mine. I love to read about mature characters who are mid-thirties or over (being in the over-40 group myself), although I do read younger characters.
My stepson is married with two children of his own, and my son has just finished his second year of college. Hubby and I are enjoying our empty nest, since we began our marriage with kids. We have a blind, elderly yorkie-poo, and a Maine Coon cat who is bigger than the dog.
Some of you may recognize me from the Amazon Romance or M/M Romance Forums, where I also go by AGReads. I look forward to getting lots of recs for books here, as well. On average, I read a book a day so I will try just about anything.
Book a day, I wish! I used to read that much but things have been conspiring against me lately.
I love Maine Coon cats, such a beautiful breed. And, I'm an empty nester too. My daughter just finished her first year of college. We're very excited that she will be home by Monday! not that we'll get to see her much. She's always off with her friends or working when she is home. But at least the house won't feel as empty with her running in and out all the time. ~ Kim

I just finished Kristin Higgins' On Second Thought. So GOOD! So many great authors...so little time.

I have an extensive collection of harlequin romance books that I am constantly adding to and have now started to give away on my website http://readerspalace.com (where you can earn points for reviews and other activities to get free books and other rewards).
My favorite imprint is Harlequin Presents, mainly titles from the 80s and 90S, but I frequently read titles from other imprints as well.
Reading Romance books is my favorite hobby and there is nothing I find more relaxing than grabbing an old favorite and curling up for a good trip into HP Land!
Hi Reader! Welcome to the group! My first Harlequin was a Presents and I haven't stopped reading them. Shhh, 32 years ago. Wow. Didn't realize its been that long until this moment. LOL I read just about every genre now with a tendency towards Historicals.
Have a look around. We have several reading challenges running and feel free to jump in anywhere and share your thoughts about books or anything else. :) ~Kim

Hope all is well at your end :-)
I joined the group a few years ago, but it's been a while since I was active here, so I thought it might be a good idea to re-introduce myself. This way I could perhaps catch up with old friends and get connected with the new members :-)
My name is Ramla Zareen, and I'm an avid reader of mystery and romance books, these days leaning more towards light-hearted contemporary romances.
Some of my favourite romance authors include: Judith McNaught, Julie James, Robin Bielman, Jennifer Shirk, Kristan Higgens, Rachael Anderson, Ashley Mallory, Zeenat Mahal, Adite Banerjie, Sapna Bhog, Mahi Jay, Shilpa Suraj, Ruchi Vasudeva . . . and the list goes on, lol.
One great news at my end is that I'm now also a self-published author on Amazon :-)
My book is titled The One for Me

It's a light-hearted, romantic fiction, set in modern-day Pakistan.
I love connecting with fellow book-lovers, so please feel free to send me a friend request if you like :-)
Thank you!

Thank you, Leigh :-)

Congratulations, Ria! Did you also recently self-publish a book? I wish you all the best :-)

Ah, okay. Well, in that case, please accept my belated congratulations :-)

Hope all is well at your end :-)

Thank you so much, Ramla, for the mention. I'm delighted you enjoyed my books. Congrats on the release of yours. :)

You're welcome, Adite, you're one of my favourite authors :-)

I've been reading Harlequin sin I had my first paying job and joined the book clubs. I have shelves of Harlequin books in different genre.
I celebrated my 50th wedding anniversary this year. I retired in 2012. I've been trying to make a dent in the hundreds of books I have. I have 2 sons and 2 grown grandsons. I love dogs and I love to train and compete with them.
Hi Vicki,
Welcome to the group. Don't you just love the variety you get with Harlequin?
Happy belated anniversary! 50 years is quite an accomplishment. My husband and I are working on our 26th. One grown daughter, no grandkids yet. She is still in college. :) What kind of dogs do you compete with?

I use bookmooch.com to swap my unwanted & extra books.
I live in a small NYC apt, so it is vital to keep the book swaps flowing!

Hi Bebe,
I share books with friends, donate to libraries, nursing homes, military mailings, rehab centers, and if I go to a doctor's appointment or to the hospital for tests, I will leave a book in the waiting room with a post-it note letting people know it was free. Sometimes, I will go to the used book store and do a swap.
Welcome to the group and I'm sorry I missed your comment in here. I still have a few Temptation titles left in my Keepers and my first romance that got me hooked on the romance genre was a Presents. That was back in my teen years so 30-35 years of reading them for me too. I read more historicals now but I can't resist picking up a Presents several times a year. They are just so much fun.
Thank you Helen and Annie for stepping in and sharing with Bebe. :)

This is a re-join for me. 2021 after the pandemic started and I lost 3 of my dogs in one year and I just couldn't seem to finish any of the challenges in my 6 groups. I just un-joined all my groups. 2022 I have now only 2 groups: Hooked on Books and this one. I'm a 72 year old female, retired and living in TN. Between real paperback books and Kindle and a Kindle Fire I have 2,000 or 3,000 books.
I love dogs and quilting. Used to train and compete in dog shows.
Just learning how to quilt but thanks to YouTube I'm having fun learning.

sorry to hear you've had so much hardship lately. Great to hear you are joining some groups again.

Hi Vicki,
Good to hear you are rejoining the group. You tube is a great source for learning to quilt, that's how I got my start in quilting.
Hi again Vicki,
I'm sorry you have been having a hard time. I completely understand trying to deal with loss. (((Hugs))) I love dogs too but I haven't had one since I was a kid. I still miss my little cock-a-poo. ~ Kim

My daughter took piano lessons for a few years. I wish I had the skill but I know it is beyond my music skills. I played the flute and bass clarinet in high school. How very cool you are raising funds for Make -A-Wish. A good friend went to Disney and had a wonderful family vacation that they treasure to this day. Her son was born with several health and mental issues. Sorry to hear you have medical issues but it sounds like you don't let it stop you! I think that is great. My handicap-ness is from a severe car accident.
