Hi Michelle, just to let you know how much I love your books. :) Happy Valentine's Day.

Hi I'm Joyce. I've been married to my second husband for 21 years. I have a 28 year old autistic son. I don't read a lot of different Harlequin books but I am addicted to the Nocturne books and Nocturne Cravings books. I started out with the Shadows series and was so upset when they went away. Then came the Nocturne series and I was in heaven. I love paranormal romance and these are just up my alley.

Christine wrote: "Hi Kim--and everyone! Such great intros. I'm Christine Rimmer, a longtime Harlequin author. Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. XOXO!"Hi Christine, hmm it's funny I should see this now just when I'm arriving in Justice Creek CO :)

Hi, I am Hina Tabassum. I am from Pakistan. A banker by profession, I have always taken out time to read.I read my first Harlequin (let me correct that as it was Mills&Boon) back in college and since then I have been reading them.
I am so engrossed in these books that I have started working on a manuscript that I hope to get published with Harlequin Heartwarming.
I'm coming in late, because, I admit it-- I kind of tend to avoid e-mail. (I'd rather read. Take a peek at my booklist if you don't believe me...)Anyway, I'm Gail Dayton, a lifelong reader, and a grown-up reader of romance. I discovered science fiction and fantasy way before I got over the idea that kissing was icky. I honestly don't remember when I read my first Harlequin romance, but I do remember reading Gone With The Wind and Hawaii at about 13...
I have grown-up kids and grandkids who are practically grown up. (The oldest grandboy is now 13! Ack!!) The fella and I live on Galveston Island 2 blocks from the Gulf of Mexico. The current cold front has blown in, but it shouldn't freeze here. Good thing, since the rubber trees are already back outside... Condolences to those of you up north suffering from the snow.
I've jumped in to one of the challenges, and if I manage to keep up with it (I tend to get distracted. Sigh), I kind of imagine that's where I'll hang out mostly. It's nice to meet everyone! *waving madly to all of y'all.*

Hi Gail, great to see you here. I am one of those in the North but I wouldn't rather live any place else. I absolutely love having 4 very distinct seasons. Although, the polar winds could stop blowing at any time and I would be very happy to feel my face when I go outside again.

Hi, I'm Liz Talley.I joined this group a while back but I haven't popped in. Rude of me, huh? But I will try like mad to hop by and say hello.
I live in Louisiana and it's cold today. Brrr! I have two boys (15 and 12 yrs) a herd of dogs and one mean kitty we call Saint, Socks and Mittens. Poor thing doesn't know her name.
I've written 15 books for Superromance and I'm embarking on a new journey with Blaze. I love writing romance, I love interacting with readers and I LOVE talking books.
Glad to be here :)
Liz
Hi Liz and welcome! Sounds like you have a very busy life! And as for your kitty, well she sounds cute ( but then we don't have to live with her meanness!)

Thanks for stopping in to say hi, Liz. When in the world do you find the time to write with your large crew?
Blaze, huh? Cool. I've enjoyed your Superromances. Can't wait to read what you come up with for Blaze.
A geekish part of me loves it when an author writes for several different series. I enjoy seeing how they handle the different guidelines and how much it changes their style of writing, if any. :) ~ Kim

Good morning. My husband and I have five children between us. Three are his, and two are mine. Through one of his, we have three BEAUTIFUL grandchildren. I read daily. I mostly love romance! My favorite genres are Christian fiction, Amish romance, Highland romances, and Old English romances. I will read anything however, except horror or mysteries. Had enough of those with Nancy Drew growing up. HA HA
I can usually read a book in two days, as I am not working. If the book "grabs me", I can read in bed up to 1 or 2 in the morning. My husband has learned to just roll over, with back to lamp. LOL
What I DISLIKE the most...being halfway thru a book, and realize it is the third or fourth in a series, and I don't have the others!
Thanks for being a part of Goodreads. I love seeing what my all my friends are reading!

Good morning Carla. Welcome. I do a good portion of my reading in bed as well. Rarely, my husband will ask me to turn off my light. He knows my addiction. :) I look forward to getting to know you and sharing thoughts on books with you. ~ Kim

Harlequins are what i read most. . I usually read one daily The last couple of years i read Harlequin Presents and Silhouette desire. I have been trying to read different lines from Harlequin. I cannot believe how many there are. How did i start My obsession with Harlequin well.. My Great grandmother read the harlequin/silhouette i would sneak into her read borrow them. When i was a teenager she went to an assisted living home. I would go visit her and read them to her. Back then I loved the ones with the purple cover (silhouette romance). I like the strong characters, ingenious plots, glorious places , fantasy and of course HEA. Our world needs more love and romance. IMHO!

Hi everyone! I'm Lara Lacombe, and I write for Harlequin Romantic Suspense. I'm a little late to the romance community (I didn't start reading romances until college), but I like to think I've made up for lost time, as romance is my favorite genre :)I look forward to chatting with you all!

Hi and welcome Lara. It doesn't matter what age you started reading romance. It just matters that you loved it enough to start writing it!

Hi Kim, my story is so similar to yours! Babysitting was so boring in the 70's I would take books with me too!
Howdy, all. Just dragged myself home after teaching and parent conferences (3rd grade.) I'm a romantic suspense author with Love Inspired Suspense (so we're at different ends of the shelf, Kim, Lol! I've been writing professionally for 15 years or so. I live in California with two teen girls and hubby. :)

We may be at different ends of the shelf normally but I am definitely one of those who jumps from shelf to shelf whenever the fancy takes me.

Hi Everyone! My name is Angie, I am a virtual assistant for a few romance authors, all of whom have written for Harlequin and/or still do!I have joined this group in order to best keep everyone up-to-date on upcoming blog tours, giveaways, contests and anything else in support of spreading the good word about Harlequin Historical Romances.
Hi everyone, I'm Dianna and I've been reading HQN since about November last year. I'm back after a 15 year category romance break, but I'm completely obsessed agan! I have four current favourite authors, and once I've read everything I can find from them, I'll be hunting around for more. I'm a sucker for the single minded billionaires who unswervingly believe some perfectly nice girl is a scheming hussy or criminal mastermind.

Hi Angie, I've started a new topic that is probably going to be an active one for you, Author Events. Please share all you want. But, also join in on our discussions. I'm sure as an Author Assistant, you will have much to add.
Hi Dianna, welcome back to romance! Be sure to let us know when you are ready for some author suggestions.
:) Kim

Hi - I've been trying to find a moment to introduce myself but I'm busy finishing my latest book so I've had my nose to the grindstone - er - keyboard!I'm Kate Walker and I've been writing for Harlequin Presents for - gulp! - 30 years this year! (I was first published as a baby author - honest! I've been reading all the messages from this group with so much interest that I thought it was about time I introduced myself properly and said Hi.
I also wanted to tell you that I have a special Goodreads Giveaway for the publication of my latest book - Olivero's Outrageous Proposal, with my sexy Italian hero who's out for revenge on his estranged half-brother, You can find the details in the Giveaway thread.
Right - back to the keyboard, but I hope to come by more often from now on.

      Hi Kate,
Thanks for stopping in to introduce yourself. 30 years? No, it couldn't be that long! Happy Anniversary!
Kim (you may remeber me from when I wrote reviews, my last name would give it away because it is one that most people remember, Swi...ski. I haven't shared my last name on goodreads because I want to keep my personal page, well personal.)

Hi Kim - I do remember you so much! You reviewed some of my books so kindly. Thank you! (Hugs) And yes -- it is (whisper it) 30 years since The Chalk Line was first published - doesn't time fly when you're having fun! 63 books later . . .How lovely to connect up with you again.

It was easy to write kind reviews since you write the Greek hero so well.
Time sure does fly. It has been 12 years since I started reviewing which morphed into doing this for Harlequin. I'm in my glory! :)

Hi Pam! What a lovely thing to say. Thank you. You've really made this cold, wet morning here in Lincolnshire UK! I have revisions on the latest book - but it make me feel so much better about doing them knowing that readers enjoy them so much when they're published. Thank you so much :-)

I really love your Greek Heroes. I just started one of your books "The Groom's Revenge " i hope the dreary weather got better. It was in the eighties here today.

Hi, I'm new to this group. I've been a long time reader of the Harlequin line. I started reading my mom's and aunt's HPs when I was a teen and haven't been able to stop since. Harlequin is what got me addicted to the romance genre in the first place.

Wow, thirty years!! How awesome is that. Any tips on how to keep the writing fresh?
Wow, thirty years!! How awesome is that. Any tips on how to keep the writing fresh? Hi Adite! Truth is - when asked how I've managed to write for Harlequin Presents for so long, the only real answer is - on word at a time!! ;-) The best advice I can give for keeping writing fresh - well, at least the way I go about it - is to remember that each new book is a new hero and heroine's story - so the current book (Olivero's Outrageous Proposal) is Alyse and Dario's story. The one I'm writing now is Nabil and Aziza's story - and all the heroes and heroines are different people and they all have their own personal stories - so far it seems to have worked for me! I do try really really hard not to repeat myself, though there are only so many plots you can have in romance novels - I just try to fin a different twist on them!
Best wishes
Kate

I've loved reading since I was a kid. I took a break from it in my later teen and early adult years but got back into it a couple of years ago.
My all-time favorite genre is mystery with romance coming in at a close second.
My favorite shows are CSI, Criminal Minds, NCIS, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD...anything along those lines
My favorite movies are those by Tim Burton and anything involving Johnny Depp
My favorite colors are black, blue and purple
My favorite season is summer. I love the warm weather, flip flops, cookouts...everything the season is about
My mood decides whether I'm reading a book in print or on my eReader.
I look forward to connecting with everyone and chatting about out awesome reads!

Hi Kim I'm a recently divorced mother of 2 young /almost adult boys, 15yrs an 13yrs im a stay at home due to medical reason! i have had 4 surgery's in the last 4 years!!!! so with that it leaves me plenty of time to read.... i use to work in a Library as a clerk, i was never a reader.... well that all changed when at work... i couldn't get enough an then i read my first Harlequin an it was over, love at first read i have loved all of the books i have read from Harlequin... keep printing them i am a devout fan!!!

Welcome to the group Terilynn. Bless your heart, 4 surgeries would not be fun. At least you had reading time through the recovery.

I felt exactly the same when I discovered my first harlequin (only being a UK resident, it was a Mills & Boon). Loved the stories so much, I wanted to create stories just like them. And I still do!

Hi, my name is Sharon, and have been a long-time reader of most any genre of books, but especially romances. I have had more time to read in the past year, as I was in the hospital for two weeks in Jan 2014 with a serious bacterial infection, and then in May, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, had a mastectomy and had my left breast removed. I went through chemo last year, and just last week, finished up radiation. It has been a long year, but my books have been a great way to escape for a while. I have discovered just recently, that I enjoy the Love Inspired line, and also Super romances. I just recieved a bunch of books off of e-Bay, and am going to be diving into them very soon!

Welcome Sharon and ((hugs)) for you. Breast cancer runs in my family so I know what kind of year you just went through. Enjoy your new books!

Hello I'm Alyssa and I'm from Canada. I have no children yet and have only been married just under a year! I've read HQN books since 2000 (maybe even earlier but for sure since I was 9 years old... I know I'm young.. sorry!) Books were the only thing that kept me quiet when I used to go camping in the summer with my grandma - I would read 5 to 6 books in a 10 day stretch. Contemporary Romance is by far one of my favorites.. I can't seem to go into the historical realm nor have I even tried to enter the paranormal one. I am so excited to meet and talk to all of you!

Ha. Here we forgot it was Valentine's Day until this evening we were driving across the state border to a family dinner and people were selling flowers on the side of the road! Almost everyone in my family has had a birthday in the past few weeks, so we're too exhausted to be romantic!
