Also, the shorter name has to be merged into the longer name if the longer name is on the book covers. Be sure to check them all before merging into a shorter name.

In this case you can move the books to her profile by adding a dot after the Y on each edition. Librarians cannot merge profiles that involve Goodreads Author profiles; it has to be staff. The first profile does not have followers so there is no need to merge them as the empty profile with no books will be deleted by the clean-up script at some point.
