I have two books on the go that I will set aside. I was trying to finish them this week but instead of focusing on one I tried to finish them both and ended up finishing neither :(

I’m starting with We Begin at the End. Our electricity went out right when the toppler started, so I won’t be able to update the main post until it comes back on. I have to use the app until then. We are having miserable weather. An ice storm.
Yikes! It is cold, rainy and windy in Middle Georgia but no sleet or ice...yet. Be safe.

I'm here. I had a grocery pickup scheduled at 1:00 and my alarm didn't go off. Mad rush to get dressed and get there. I was up all night and will probably have to nap soon. But I'm going to start Oleander House now. I've got a nice hot cup of tea beside me and my chocolate arrives tomorrow!
I've started The Lost Hero and will start The Accidental Beauty Queen later tonight. Yee-haa! Too much fun! I promise not to torture you all with our 80 degree weather... If it's any consolation, it's overcast and ugly...
I have the house all to myself, tea & cinnamon rolls to be followed up with egg salad & fully loaded Coke with beef stroganoff for dinner.... I just love a long weekend!

Morning, everyone! I am soon off to finish book 2, The End of the World. I hope those of you who are in the frigid zone are doing ok and electricity is on. In the Deep South of Georgia today, it is in the low 40s, rainy and darkly overcast. It looks to stay that way today which is a good day to stay inside and read. As I’m off to read, I have a hot cup of coffee and snuggly blanket to keep me company. Happy Valentine’s Day to all who celebrate. Be safe and well!
It turns out I had to finish my audio book from before because it had to back so I'm just starting The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue now.I started Things We Lost in the Fire yesterday and I'm enjoying it and I know it will be a fast read. Had an extended visit at the MIL's yesterday so didn't get much reading done but I hope to spend all day today reading :)
I finished Oleander House and wasn't impressed. Oh well, at least it's off my tbr now. I'm about 80% through The Hitman's Guide to Making Friends and Finding Love and loving it. This and the second book are rereads leading to the third book.My chocolate arrived and I'm doing a happy dance as one melts in my mouth. 😄
Hi all! Just wanted to pop in to give a quick update. I’m still without electricity so I can’t get on here unless I go for a drive. I am almost done my first book and am on schedule for my reads. I am limited with light and charging electronics as to how much I can read at the moment, but I’m hoping they get it fixed soon. It is SO cold in my house. Anyway, sorry I can’t check in more. Hope you’re all doing well. I’ll be back soon to update our list and reporting as needed.

Oh no, Kristie you've been out of power for a while now. Thats terrible. Maybe you can impose on a friend in a different part that has power. Stay warm
Ok - I am going to commit to a couple more since I am doing well with my pledged list. I will also pledge to do Black No More (link word black) and Love, Lucy (link word love) and Policing the Black Man: Arrest, Prosecution, and Imprisonment (link word black)
My electricity is back! It was out for 33 hours and I could see my breath in my house when it finally came back on. Brrr... Unfortunately, my internet and cable are still out. I can only check in intermittently because I need to leave my house to get better cell service to create a hotspot. Ugh! At least, I have been able to finish my first book. :) I have had a problem with downloading my second book. I thought I had already done it, but something must have gone wrong because it is not downloaded. I am going to try to fix that later today. For now, I've started my second book.

I am glad you are back in business Kristie. I just finished Black Dahlia & White Rose: Stories and I hated every second of it. I am still reading Peril at End House.. It is my first read of Agatha Christie and I am enjoying it. I will be starting the audio of Accidental Hero tonight.

Bah, Sorry to hear that. I am preparing for rolling blackouts. Turning people's electricity off in the middle of freezing cold on purpose... My brain hurts trying to understand, but not a choice. It will take my house forever to warm back up... not to mention worrying about the well house. Arrr..
And it's back! Hopefully it stays on this time! Oh, Christina. That's awful. I don't understand why you would turn anyone's electricity off when it's freezing cold out. I hope you're able to get everything you need prepared and your home doesn't get too cold. How long is the blackout supposed to last? Hopefully not too long.
I finished The Hitman's Guide to Staying Alive Despite Past Mistakes and The Hitman's Guide to Tying the Knot Without Getting Shot. I love this author. her characters are smart asses who can't keep their mouths shut.Christina - Sorry to hear your electrical news. Have they done this before?
It looks like we are now expected to get another ice storm on Thursday! Fingers crossed our electricity & internet stay on this time. I fell a little behind with my reading plan today. I was hoping to have my second book done, but I'm not quite there. I expect to finish it tomorrow. I should still be able to complete my planned books, but it's unlikely I'll be able to add any extras. I am enjoying my reads so far, so that's a bonus.

I am about to finish book four. I will finish it tomorrow and should have plenty of time to do book 5. I had to take a little break today. I’m glad you finally got your electricity back on.
I wish I could just read nonstop! This work thing really gets in the way, though! I'm doing well with The Lost Hero and The Accidental Beauty Queen. they're both pretty good (and funny!) I'll begin Lost tomorrow. I'm right on track to finish all 3 before Saturday!
I just was told that it is 30 min to a hour supposedly, but they canceled them for today in my area. No, I have never experienced a purposeful blackout. I however am pre- prepared for an ice storm which normally knocks out power for sometimes days... I have experienced that before. I will be fine... just annoyed. However I am sure that isn't the case for everyone.
Boo on ice storms! I finished Concrete Rose and have about an hour left of Policing the Black Man. I loved Concrete Rose. Policing the Black Man is maddening :(
Tomorrow and Thursday I have Parent Teacher Conferences, (on phone call or Zoom) so I am not sure how that will translate into being able to listen to books. Only half my parents have signed up, so I may end up with some extra time.
I'm 85% through Love Bites and want to kill the MCs. I haven't gotten as much reading done today as planned because I kept falling asleep. Catching up or bored - maybe some of both.
We are finally getting some snow - and the roads were so bad my car got stuck and I had to have my husband come get me! Now I am home waiting for them to get a handle on clearing the roads. I am starting Love, Lucy
I have finished the three books I committed to. I’ll read The End of the Day, which can be fit into the “end” section somewhere. That will be it for me.
I shouldn't have any problem finishing my books but that will be it for me. I have enjoyed everything so far. I'm finding The Mirrored World intense which is helping me finish it quickly
I should finish Black No More on my commute tomorrow, so can also do One Story, One Song (connect to the end of the chain with the word one)
Sharon - I saw in the reporting thread that you completed the five books that you signed up for. Will you be adding more? The toppler is going until 12noon ET on Saturday, so plenty of time still to go.
Make Death Love Me is another audio... I am going to start Black Rose. I will finish Make Death Love Me, but Black Rose will be a toss up.
I'm almost done The House in the Cerulean Sea and am just starting The Rose Code. I should have them both done on time.
