Evelina sure gets lost a lot ;)

I was going to say exactly that!! I started enjoying it as volume one went on, but now she gets lost then she gets found then she’s embarrassed and letters go back and forth about her foible. Then she gets lost AGAIN, and found, and embarrassed and letters again pass to the effect. The repetition is not helpful to her character. She seems like a toddler.

I agree, she gets so haughty about Sir Clement treating her lightly, but she keeps getting into scrapes and giving him the chance to ‘rescue’ her!
