Kami was street smart, but I was surprised that she escaped the traffickers. And I was very surprised that she could make her way back to Elle's apartment without being caught. I don't know why Richie spared her from the traffickers.
I agree with Robin, Kami had superior street smarts. I wasn't surprised that she escaped and found her way back to Elle's. I think Richie really liked her and was waiting to make his own move on her, that's why he never turned her over to the traffickers.
Kami was definitely streetwise and it didn’t surprise me that she found a way to escape but I was so sure they’d find her before she reached Elle’s condo.
I asked that question about Richie because he’s gay and it wasn’t a sexual attraction at play here. For some reason he bonded with her but I couldn’t figure what made her different from everyone else.

I wasn't overly surprised that she escaped, but it did seem a bit too easy. I agree with you all. I feel that Richie did see her as a little sister and didn't want her hurt.
I thought the little sister likelihood was the best idea for his hands-off attitude through much of the story.
It didn't surprise me when Kami escaped. She traveled the streets a lot. It felt like she has an internal compass that made her super aware of what goes on around her and how to take advantage of an unexpected situation. I thought that Richie related to her on some personal level. Either as a sibling or someone who knows her journey.

Kami is missing because she’s trying to find the evidence she promised Elle. Were you surprised when she was able to escape her captors? Why do you think Richie spared her from the traffickers up until that point?
