I just finished the last book (5th) in a series that in all honesty I should have finished years ago when I first picked up the books. So I am wondering if are others have as much trouble as I do reading long series. To me a long series is over 3 books. I want to read a long series, but I end up bored, no matter how good the books are. My question this month is: do you prefer to read a standalone or a series?
I prefer series. This year I'm really trying to catch up with all my ongoing series and I'm being quite successful so far.
I like both. But I do like shorter series, like a trilogy. Standalones are great because it's a one and done. I just finished an 11 book and 4 book series by Nora Roberts. I felt very accomplished.
I like series but end up reading more standalone and then want a sequel for stand alone lol. I don’t like cliff hangers so I don’t like to read a series until a few are out. Which means I have a lot of series to read.
I totally agree with you Kat about the standalone, and wanting a sequel. Leane, to finish a series as long as 11 books, is an accomplishment.

I agree, I don't like cliffhangers. When I do read a series I prefer that all the books are finished so I don't have to wait.
