Josh | 3 comments Read sometime between 2011 and 2017 in kindle e-book format as the first book in a series of at least three books.

The MC is brought to the new world (that was either un-named or I just don't remember the name) by spirits/fairy's that are being forced to work for the Necromancer. I think it was unclear whether the spirits knew what the necromancer meant by "child of destiny" (which in the context of the world is someone who brings about big changes for the better if I remember) and brought someone that had a parent named Destiny or they misunderstood or the main character is a "child of destiny" both literally and metaphorically. The MC is rescued from the necromancer by a powerful wizard (who later turns out to be somewhat famous) It is revealed that necromancers driven mad with power rule a large amount of land and have to be constantly held in check as they long to sacrifice every being they can get their hands on for more power (this luckily stops them from working together as they want everything for themselves). The MC discovers they can use magic and is taken to an academy/school for magicians (I'm unsure on the term for magic user that is used). The MC arrives at the school in style (I think on the back of a dragon but I don't remember exactly). I think there is something about the school being neutral between country's so nobles are not supposed to be given better treatment. The MC comes into conflict with a princess from some country and they trade spells and get into trouble. I think the main cause for conflict is that the MC is somewhat infamous from the manner of arrival and that they are a "child of destiny". The MC doesn't reveal that they are from a different world and just uses the excuse of being from a far off land that they wouldn't have heard of. The final conflict in the book is against the necromancer that summoned the MC who attacks the magic school but is defeated by the MC using the power of a magical nexus or something like that to make a black hole or a nuclear explosion or something like that.

I do remember some from the second and third books in the series but I doubt that will help much if the description above doesn't. This is my first post on this forum so let me know if I've done something wrong and I'll try to fix it. :)

Josh | 3 comments Thanks Becca! That's exactly right. It's been really annoying me that I couldn't find it. What do I do to move this subject to the solved section?

Glad you found your book series, Josh. I moved your thread to a Solved folder by clicking the small "edit" link after the header/topic title. This only works on the full Desktop website - not the Mobile website and app.
