SOLVED. Children’s/YA school setting, modern day UK c1990’s - Main character is new to the school, girl called Mickey, with two other girls, one named Cerise, who always wears pink. Could be like a modern day Malory Towers? [s]

I am trying to find a book I read approximately 25-30 years ago.

A girl called Mickey (nickname?) started a new school

Frequent mentions of Mickey giving people “sickly smiles”

The cover was three girls dressed in blue?school uniforms

The cover drawing was more “comic like” than real life

The back cover could be red?

One girl was called Cerise

Cerise always wore pink accessories

On Mickey’s first day in the canteen she ate sausages, tomatoes and bread

The canteen was self service and Mickey dropped one of the sausages

It’s Mickey not Mikey and there are three main characters. Also it’s set in the UK, not America/Australia.

Aha! The School Friends series by Mary Hooper? The narrator is a girl called Mickey, and there is a Cerise too. The first book is First Term.
