YA
MC is teen girl, model, completely flat-chested which she says that is why she is so successful. She appears in shampoo commercial, looking naked, which causes issues with her High School

She has a female friend who is also a model who suddenly gets bad acne and is no longer able to model. The make up artist says something about she cannot cover up 'eruptions.' The friend thinks a lot about or attempts suicide, something about walking into a body of water with rocks in her pockets, like Virginia Woolf.

MC does not have the best relationship with her parents.

One Scene: MC is in in makeup/hair chair getting her hair chemically treated (I think bleaching/lightening) and someone gives her a salad to eat while she is getting her hair done. The chemicals drip onto the salad, and the hair person takes it away.

I believe it takes place in NYC but could be wrong.

Thanks, Tab

I don't recognize that cover, but it has been a while. I also found this

So it might be this one - I will message some of the people who reviewed the book and see if they remember any of the scenes I listed.
