I say we wait so we don't waste any more books. Once we know the direction, we can grab that last spot then use all our reserve books toward the next board.

I must have missed Melanie by two minutes last night. I’m so frustrated. I was busy and away from my phone while she did the update. 😰

The problem is we have a whole pile and the update tomorrow is just going to give a clear board, so it won’t be until Monday that we actually get feedback on if our dozen or so books get any hits. Guess we just need to gear up and read dozens more so we can crush the board quickly. It’s just annoying that we were only one day behind the other team but now we’re going to be a week behind.

Yes, I believe that worked well for us this past time. As a reminder, we started with odd numbers matched with odd letters (A1, C1, E1), then even matched with even (B2, D2, F2). Once someone gets through a row, they can jump over to help another teammate. :) Getting specific with final target spots at the end worked well for us, too.

Hopefully, Melanie can squeeze in a quick update to our review chat board tonight to finalize our board so we can start putting in new reads for the new board before the Thursday update. Let's all cross our fingers and say our prayers that she can!

Okay, we get updates tonight. Idea: whoever's here when Melanie gives us our new board could start posting books and maybe we could at least get a few hits on the board.

If all of us post our saved books here in chat, whoever's present tonight can copy-paste our huge book dump into the review thread.

Ok ladies - board 3 is up, and we are more behind than we realized! Team 1 has already located (but not sunk) three ships on their third board. We got one hit with tonight's update.

I skipped my typical weekend reading and this coming weekend is Passover. So, I'm going to try to push really hard this week and get 1 book a day completed. :D

For anyone that finishes their rows first, my suggestion would be to target the farthest columns to the right (J, then I) and work their way in. Seems like most have started targeting their own rows from the left.

Although it looks like there's been nothing called on rows 3-4. If Emily doesn't mind you hopping onto her rows, that's another place to start. :)

The next target spots look like they should be D1 and B7. I think that will sink those two ships, then all we need to do is find 2 more. :)

Yes, you can post on my rows if you want. When I did post on this board, it was to sink ships!

Things have been crazy. My dad gave me 4 days notice before paying a visit last weekend. (He lives 3 states away and hasn’t visited before, though I went home for the holidays.) Then my car decided to break, and I spent the weekend car shopping with dad. We found a good used one, but I’ve been spending the week trying to sell the other one and taking the new one to the mechanic. Then I got extra work shifts this week, plus a house-sitting job. And I’m trying to get some things figured out for the future - I’m probably moving to a different state in two months, and the deciding factor will be determined in the next 7 days. So ... busy, busy! I still listen to audiobooks, but neither reading nor posting have been the first priority. I still want to continue the challenge though!
