HAHAHAHA! That is HILARIOUS! :-D But you were very clever. I wouldn't have thought of that one. I have been listening to JAFF audiobooks. And I remember one line in one story - something like, "Is that the game that adds up to 21? Or 31?" :-D It was probably Bingley that said it.

Being a caretaker is a hard job. You know you have done your best. Hospice will be a blessing for you both.

I will still che..."Sorry to hear you have reached this point but glad you are turning to hospice care. My brother (who died last December) also had hospice care. I am sure you will find the extra help a blessing. May GOD give you peace.

Thanks, Christina and Elin, I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. We now have a hospital bed and that has been such a blessing and comfort. The nurse is headed our way with the meds so things are so much better for hubby. Thanks again, everyone.

Jeanne, Sending you prayers and strength to help you deal with the change of circumstances. A hospital bed is easier to help move your husband and is better for comfort. The Hospice team will meet you needs and have wonderful medications available. Glad that you are able to get some help. Please keep us updated.
Sheila, the bed is in the middle of our living room and I had them place it so we could walk around it. I could reach him so much easier. Shelley, you are so right. They brought the meds and it made him so much more comfortable. First a comfy bed, a nice bath from three nurses, [GRRR! He enjoyed that way too much] clean clothes, and the good meds. Yeah, he had a good day.
I know I am making light of this but I'd rather find the funny side and laugh than cry. I'll do that later. He actually smiled when I told the nurses we had been together 50-years. Just staking my claim. My look said... "Back off ladies" just saying.
Now I am laughing. I do like your attitude. Glad he had a good day and good idea to put it in the middle of the room.

Thanks, everyone, I actually went to church yesterday. It was the first time in nearly a year. I'm including the obit 'cause I think he's cute. This was his favorite picture. LOL! We are vane. Just to touch base. I am well and surrounded by support and family. I am able to eat and sleep which is such a luxury.A group from his side of the family will meet tomorrow night for dinner at a local restaurant. Due to COVID concerns, I didn't want a viewing and he wouldn't have liked that anyway. This way we can fellowship and talk about him. LOL! There will be just a few and that way I can visit with them. It is hard to see everyone at a funeral.

The graveside service was so nice. It was early enough in the day that the heat index was still low. There was a slight breeze but you could feel the temp rising. We are still in a heatwave and it got hot quickly. The Air Force sent their Honor Guard and they did their flag folding ceremony. OMG! I nearly lost it when that young man knelt before me and presented me with the folded flag. Whew! It was beautiful. I intend to get a monogrammed case to showcase it. There were so many there. I was really surprised. He was well-respected in the community.
I am well and managing. I've had good advice from a GRs friend/financial advisor and I am following it. I made a list and I'm checking it twice. You don't realize just how many businesses you deal with every day/month until you have to call them.
I know it hasn't hit me yet but I am well. It's odd that our church planned to host a grief counseling group later this year. I intend to set in on the conference. I want to cover all bases.
