Madiha | 227 comments I met a girl and she was telling me about a book she read recently(in 2021).
All she remembered was that it was a mystery.
Maybe YA? I don't think it was Adult
Set in a boarding school or college or HS/MS(less likely tho)
A student is either kidnapped or murdered.
She also said that maybe if it was murder the murderer tried to pass it off as suicide?
It could have been suicide like in the book (I was Here)
I dunno anything else about the book.
I know this is pretty vague but please let me know what it could be.
Thanks Everyone in advance!

Madiha, I added a few details to the header/topic title. You can update it by clicking the small "edit" link after the header. This only works on the full Desktop website - not the Mobile website or app. (On the Mobile website, click the "Desktop version" link at the bottom of the page.)

It's a challenge when a friend tells us about a book (that we haven't read). Can you ask her for more details?

Sarah MacPherson | 47 comments The Suicide House?

It is adult fiction rather than YA but the details fit.

This book starts with a teacher's death, but there is a student "suicide" that occurred before the action in the novel.

Set in a boarding school in England.

Teacher's body disappears.

Murder Most Unladylike

Michele | 2488 comments Are you sure it was high school? There is Donna Tartt's "The Secret History" (sorry, am on phone app and can't link) which might fit, but it's college. Small New England, so a lot like a boarding school :)

From Heaven With Love (aplacecalledbookland) | 8 comments @Florence... Nah I don't this it was one of her books because I hv read all of them and they don't hv any of that info... Me and my friend recently read this together.

How are you so certain none of these books are right if you didn't read the book, and only have a small amount of information about it secondhand?

message 19: by Madiha (new)

Madiha | 227 comments Nope, Sara, good guess though.

Madiha | 227 comments Lobster girl,
I'm sending the girl the books and she's telling me if these are right or, well, not right.

Madiha | 227 comments FOUND THE BOOK!
My friend asked around town about the story and found this:
It was written by a recent graduate in her town. However, it was not published. It was called "A+ Victims". It was in the library, during their annual "New writers" convention thing.

Michele | 2488 comments Can you give us the author's name, in case others might be wondering? Or, y'know, in case they become Famous Author Person?
