Oof, that's not fun. Hope you get your progress back soon.

okay,do y'all also write different chapters from your books that have nothing to do with your current wip?Like i'm writing the first book and I decided to write a scene from the third one
Nicole wrote: "update: I finished the 3 chapter of my book (I have a prologue and the 3 chapters) and I am proud of me lol"I'm proud of u too!
Ya'll I'm writing chapter four of my story and I'm finding out things about my characters that I had no idea about! Not going to spoil anything but geez I'm worried about my characters.... Also loving my British character so much right now <33Also I've got 6,935 words so far, but I'm writing so we'll see :)
Katie wrote: "I dont have a word count but I did two drafts of my prologue and I need to revise it again. (Yes, I’m that kind of writer)"Hey there's nothing wrong with that. Might I suggest you keep each draft or just if there's parts that you like in them, in a different document so you can look back on or use them later. It might help. Also if you're having trouble with the prologue maybe try writing chapter one first then going back to the prologue and trying again.
Katie wrote: "I finished the third draft of my prologue! Which I had a computer so I could keep a word count for you guyssss"Tisha wrote: "Yay, I finally finished my second chapter, I've got to 4085 words!!!!"
That's awesome you guys!
I almost have two pages for the same memory and I haven't even got to the part of it that's the reason why I started writing it.
Katie wrote: "Oh no! Do you need someone to review it? Maybe it’ll help. Try writing out the points you really want to get to in the flashback, and keep going! Don’t forget, your first, second, third, or any num..."Oh, I know :)
And I think what I have is actually important to the plot and background on some of the characters, it's just taking a bit to get to the part where I had originally intended this to go.
Of course I'm down if anyone wants to read it once I'm done. :)
Katie wrote: "There’s a section for a buddy writer if you want to request one for the whole process! It’s pretty cool to have someone be there the whole way and be able to read everything. If you just want me t..."
I have a group for my writing, but I'd love it if you'd read the flashback :)
I'm almost done with it.
I now have the same memory but from two different POV's written. It's weird to write the same twice thing but from a different characters POV. It's interesting to do this cause it makes you think about what it would look/feel like if you were the other person.
I get to start my second draft soon! Hopefully today or tomorrow(which I've been saying for the last week)!

Alex wrote: "I'm at 11,111 words currently and I just though I'd share-"
Guys that's amazing! :)
So, I'm writing and I go back to read what I just wrote, like people do, but everytime I try saying the word "hand" or "hands" I say "ham" instead.....why I have no freaking clue. That is all.

Katie wrote: "Currently procrastinating on writing chapter 1 because I don’t know where to start, just where I want it to go :))"Then start with what you know and go from there. I wrote most of chapter six before I even wrote chapter two :)

^ Aja, great advice!
I also recommend starting with what you know because it's more interesting for readers. They don't want eight chapters of exposition, they want action.
You can always add a little bit of beginning, but what you mostly want is to speedrun the boring parts so readers don't get bored.

For me I just stay in order. It gets really confusing if I jump to different parts. Also, it feels like I haven't grown with the character?? Idk that's just me and I'm probably an anomaly

Katie wrote: "No that makes perfect sense! I think we are all anomalies. I’m just always ten steps ahead of the characters and their stories lol"I thought I knew my characters, but they still surprised me... (view spoiler)
i finally wrote a few paragraphs for the first time in a while. and my romance is going nicely.
Alice wrote: "i finally wrote a few paragraphs for the first time in a while. and my romance is going nicely."YAY! CONGRATS!!!
Katie wrote: "What?!?! I’m such a romantic omg.... I love basically all romance haha! The only romances I’ve hated so far is The Notebook and One Day In December"Sad but true. I love all the romances I've read so far. It's the books that I seen to read faster. Even though I've been in love myself I still enjoy reading romance so much!
well mine isn't a full on romance. but its there. its chilling.

oml YES. 90% of the time I have a plan and my characters gang up on me to drag the story out of my hands and in a completely different direction. I blame my mcs.

“There’s a slight disgust in your tone when you say Bradshaw, causing me to believe that even though we’ve never met before, you don’t like me. Which most would find condescending at best, however I on the other hand have come to terms with the fact that anyone with the surname Powell are not only condescending but completely ignorant as well.”~Selia to Jake
