From Heaven With Love (aplacecalledbookland) | 8 comments So the cover is red/dark orange. I think it has the word stars in the name and it is rated MG/YA. Set during the war and there was an explosion? A brother and a sister...or a boy and a girl? read around 2016/2017

Hannah | 44 comments Hey, this could be a long shot because it doesn't exactly have children in it but 'Silver stars' by Michael Grant, second in the front lines series and red/dark orange cover, alternate 2nd world war history, different perspectives, I'll like the book here:

From Heaven With Love (aplacecalledbookland) | 8 comments You know what...it might not even hv stars in the name...but good guess, it is not

Very long shot, but I’m pretty sure there is a flashback to the kids in one of the ww’s, skating on an ice lake and sneakily setting a bomb in a drain pipe to ammunition’s or something of the like.
