Glad you've been having some lovely weather. It's been beautiful and melting like crazy here too. Doesn't mean I don't still have 2 feet of snow in my yard, but baby steps. :D They are predicting snow and rain this week though, so everything will be a nightmare.

We Just Wanna Have Fun! March Mini Challenge

This is an optional mini challenge for our UNO players. Get your fancy, garish disco gear and dancing shoes on and sing along to some of the 80s greatest hits with us while you are reading!

The tasks will help you get into the groove as you are readying yourselves for your extravagant disco night out.
They come in threes and each task-trio also provides clues to a famous musician/band & 1 of their songs (and in some cases the official videoclips).
Complete the tasks and try to guess the name of the musician/band + song for extra points.

◈ Every book read, i.e. every task completed, is worth 10 points.
◈ If you complete all tasks, your team will receive 30 bonus points.
◈ You get 3 bonus points/musician-band, if your guess is correct. (max 45 points)
◈ You get 2 bonus points/song if your guess is correct. (max 30 points)

In case you are not certain about your guesses, you have 1 chance to correct them. Just message UNO Pixie with your band/song list and we'll let you know which of your guesses are incorrect.
If you want to use this option, please send your 1st guess-list 4 days before the challenge ends at the latest (27 March). Once you have the reply, you need to adjust your list by the end of the challenge.

For the books, the usual UNO rules applies.

◈ Books can be started at any point since the start of the UNO challenge (Feb 1)
◈ Books need to be finished after the start of this mini challenge on March 14, 9am UTC (countdown is here) and before April 1 at 9am UTC (when the April UNO month begins).

◈ Books used for this mini challenge do not need to be separate books for what you are claiming for your UNO hands
◈ The usual book length rules apply
◈ Team spreadsheets will be updated with a mini challenge tab so that you can track your books and claim your points

Do we have to complete all the tasks? And also is it like the band Queen for the first task? Or does it have to be a song? A lot of bands/songs can fit the task crown on cover. How would we know?

I finished listening to HOLLOWEEN it was 4 hrs 44 mins long. Idk the MPG for this book so can it be counted for Uno challenge?

We have to try and read all of the tasks yes. So if people want to pick out 3-4 that they'd like to claim to start, that would be great. As for guessing the songs/artists, we want to be a bit sneaky about those. Don't post any guesses in the thread. If you have an idea, please PM it to me. I have about 10 that I'm pretty sure on. When I get a chance, I will send all my guesses to you all to look over and hopefully together we can get them all. I was a teenager in the 80s, music was my life, this challenge is right up my alley and if I have to get all my old cassette tapes out of the basement.... Just kidding, but I will be watching videos on Youtube to jog my memory. :D

Books only need to work for one option - the long hair and the pink covers were different tasks. But to me the book looks purple, not pink.

The diamond jewelry is good but I don't really remember The Glass Castle, I know the author survives and overcomes her weird family, but to me a rags to riches means poverty to actual wealth. I can check though.
