Awesome, I will use that. :)
Sorry for being so quiet guys. Work is still killing my life. Thank goodness for audiobooks so I have still gotten some reading in. I will update the tracking sheet when I get home.
If average rating above 4 for mini challenge works I’ve just added it for all my recent books as they all fit that.

I can barely manage them during mindless activity like washing dishes. :D You must have a better brain than me.
Jane wrote: "If average rating above 4 for mini challenge works I’ve just added it for all my recent books as they all fit that."It's not my first choice, but it is definitely better than MPG Fiction. :D
I’m not liking The Unbearable Lightness of Being! Not my kind of book, I find it boring. Most of the things to link it to is allready mentioned in post 239
Invasion is the only other link I’ve noticed.
I’ve only got 70 pages left but I don’t think I’ll manage to finish it tonight.
Or also estranged child. He left his first wife and child in the beginning of the book and he has just seen his adult son for the first time since.

Non-fiction is judged a little differently. We aren't allowed to use characters, the exception being if the book is a memoir about one person and they aren't already the author. So, your book will work for author. :)
Any way to link it to our mini-challenge book? Is the therapist a medical doctor? Anyone dealing with infidelity or estrangement from a child?

No problem, we still have plenty of time. It was a terribly boring and pretentious book, wasn't it? Surprised I remembered as much as I did.
What kind of invasion are we talking about?
I think he is using a real invasion.Soviet and Warsaw invaded in 1968 Czechoslovakia
and that is used in the book and the MC flee to I think Switzerland.
A while after he returned he is removed as a doctor because he won’t sign a pro Russian statement which is why he ends up as a window cleaner
Hey guys, sorry to be so late. I haven't gotten the chance to update the tracking sheet, but I'm currently reading my coloured book, A Man Called Ove. Hopefully I'll get it done before the weekend ends. Anyone have plans for this weekend? Planning on going for a nice hike!
Jane wrote: "Done with
The Unbearable Lightness of Being★★
Now I need a very light read to get over that."
Glad you are done. Now go read something fun! :D
Lindsay wrote: "Hey guys, sorry to be so late. I haven't gotten the chance to update the tracking sheet, but I'm currently reading my coloured book, A Man Called Ove. Update for mini-challenge. Here are a few of those linking possibilites.Possible links - the professions of the MCs - doctor, professor, painter. Another one changes professions often. There's a wedding, the breakup of a marriage, MC leaves his wife and child, lots of infidelity, some romantic stalking. The MCs move to a different country. There are deaths in a car accident. A suicide attempt. Estranged child. One country invading another.
Allison, could you change my name in the spreadsheet - the one we can’t write in. Either just to Jane or Jane Harfeld - not sure who Jane Harcourt is LOL

Would you say this is at least 50% green? (I have it in person and the color is green, just not sure about it being at least half.)
I just finished it and we could use it for the other Green 1 if you all think it's green enough.
(instead of
)

Looks a little less than 50% to me. Any other votes?
It looks less than 50% to me too. I've read Heir of Fire before and the MC goes to a different continent. Could this be a connection? She doesn't move there permanently, but she does stay there for the entirety of this book before she goes back to her home in the next book.

Sounds great Jessamine, thanks!
Good morning/evening team! Hope everyone had a good weekend. We are finished all our UNO cards, except the two that Celia and Lindsay are finishing! Way to go everyone.
We have 12 books left in the mini. We probably have 12 finished books with ratings above 4.0, but I am trying to diversify our selections a bit. So if you can find some different choices, that would be awesome.
Things to look for - published in 1984, one country invading another, U adjective in title, MC estranged from their child, MC dies in a car accident, failed suicide attempt, MC loses their medical licence, MC is a painter, translated to English, author initials M.K., author named Milan, etc.
Thanks all!
I am currently reading a book published in 1984, an author named Milan and a MC who is a painter. :D

It is a Swedish film but I just heard it might be made in an American version with Tom Hanks as Ove
It was quite good!! Started off a bit slow and I didn’t know where it was heading cause I didn’t read the blurb. Was in for a surprise and it just grew on me 😅😅 Might give the movie a watch! Hopefully the one they are making with Tom Hanks will be good too!
Sidenote: I really need goodreads to fix goodreads on mobile so I can direct quote you guys on here.

won't work for yellow, because I tried to read it last year and got shot down. :D But I will put you down for 1 Red for now.

I am not a chick lit person at all, but I really liked The Unhoneymooners.
