Well, I don’t like poetry. I really don’t like free verse. However, there was something very gripping about this story. I didn’t care for the language but the story was good. 3 out of five.
I was confused at the beginning of the book. However, I loved how it all came together in the end. I really loved the book. I'm not sure about my students though. I give it 4/5.
Novels in verse are not my go to pick for books, but I found this one very easy to read and it kept me wanting to know how the two girls lives would intwine. 4/5
I've read everything Acevedo has put out and I know that she really connects with teens as her work has been on several teen book list winners. She did another great job with this one. I always suggest listening to novels in verse because they're more impactful that way. 5/5
I really enjoyed the journey this book takes the reader on. I feel like it covers grief very well, and even shows how sometimes when we lose a loved one, we find out about Secrets they had which isn’t always a bad thing! 5/5
