Emily | 17652 comments What do the books in the series have in common? Do characters overlap or are they in the same setting?

Elizabeth Rose | 63 comments Thank you Lianne!

Emily, in this series, these books are all focused on working men. Men and their jobs and romance.

Shanika Rana | 2 comments Hello,
I am a Goodreads author and I was hoping someone could incorporate the three books I have written into a series. The first two books are already linked and I want to incorporate the latest release into the series.

To be a series on Goodreads, books need to have more than a common theme -- like characters in common, an overarching storyline, a shared universe, etc. What makes this a series?

Still waiting for an answer to this.

Liander (The Towering Pile) Lavoie (liannelavoie) | 40 comments The fact that they're by one author would make me tend to view it as a series rather than, say, an imprint. Even if the characters are different, surely a series of romances by one author with a common theme have a shared universe.

I get that the line has to be drawn somewhere, but readers would view this as a series. I feel like the rule shouldn't be over-applied. Shouldn't usefulness to the user be a factor?

I read romances from many authors, and I would say this is true of some, and definitely not true of others.

Still waiting to hear back from the author.

Not having heard anything more, I am deleting the series. It can be added back should there be sufficient evidence provided at a later time of meeting Goodreads criteria for being a series.
