Fussnik | 10 comments two people fighting each other, inside the structure, on top of roller coaster.
the protagonist grabs his daughter's ticket and leaves her down at the entrance to the roller coaster. He rides up to the top of the ride and jumps off to hide and wait for the villain, who has followed his car up.

There was something about emptiness, maybe the roller coaster is really empty of riders? read about five years ago.

Fussnik | 10 comments the emptiness as an important plot point? It's gotta be a hard science fiction author?

Fussnik, what's the genre - e.g., science fiction for adults or teens?

What are the science fiction elements?

Can you describe the main characters? and more of the plot? Location?

Fussnik | 10 comments This is science fiction for adults .

What are the science fiction elements? There' s some computer doings in the controller offices of the ride. the emptiness of the ride was adult science fiction.

Can you describe the main characters? and more of the plot? Location?"

Thanks. I added some details to the header/topic title. You can update it by clicking the small "edit" link after the header. This only works on the full Desktop website - not the Mobile website or app. (On the Mobile website, click the "Desktop version" link at the bottom of the page.)

Stephen (swynn68) | 87 comments Maybe Lincoln Child's Utopia? I don't remember much about it, except that it is set at an amusement park which has been taken over by terrorists, and which the hero was visiting with his daughter.

Fussnik | 10 comments Solved! thank you for thinking about this. I just read another book which included an amusement park taken over by terrorists: Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy. Was I loosing my mind? did I read this before?

I'm going to get this out of the library and reread this. Thanks again. hey, this works!

Stephen (swynn68) | 87 comments Glad to help!
