Harshada has already read till 4th chapter. I am starting the book today. I think I will be done reading till 5th chapter by tomorrow. If Sehrish agree, we can start our discussion the day after tomorrow 10th Jan.
You are a really fast reader Harshada. I don't have any problem. Still try to keep it a little bit slow. I am reading 4 books at a time. ;))
I am okay with the timeline.. We can start discussing the chapters on 10th..if I can get more done, I'll try
Hey,girls! How is it going on? Should we start our discussion today or wait for another day to start?
Hello Ladies.. I finished 5 chapters.. So many questions in my head.. I can't agree more with you both that the book is definitely weird.. (view spoiler)
How far have you guys read?
OMG yes at the beginning he is so in love with her and now he is hurting her so much, I found it really weird and irritating Idk why but I was feeling sorry for Layla
(view spoiler)[ She is not going through PTSD, you will be amazed to know the real truth at the very end.Gabriel really really loves Layla. But he has kept her locked because he is in love with a spirit???;)
Oh, Gabriel was also shooted during that attacked.](hide spoiler)
We will enjoy it really really much but still I am not comfortable with it. May be that's because Paranormal is not my thing. It was kinda out of my comfort zone.
Great Gabi. It was my first CoHo book. I am planning to read Verity. Already have downloaded the pdf version.
Gabi wrote: "Hi all, haven't had the chance yet to read. I'm about to get cozy and rug up so I'll come back with initial thoughts."Can't wait to hear your views Gabi..
Gabi wrote: "Up to chapter 4 at the moment and struggling with writing style/language. Admittedly, I've only read Verity before by C.H. which was a huge 5-star for me so maybe my expectations are too high. I'm ..."This is my 2nd CH book too.. I've only read It Ends with Us before and Verity is on my TBR next.. I really like her writing actually... She has the power to hold your attention right from the beginning! I love that!
Maisha wrote: "Btw, I have already finished reading this book."Screaming my head off!! Can't wait to see what happens next
Sehrish, I know how you feel. This book was hard to put down. Throughout the whole book, I was wondering what will happen next!!!
Layla and Leeds Gabriel. They fall in love with each other at the first sight. ( though I don't believe in love at first sight). From a night stand, it turns into a living relationship. Then came Sable, Leeds' ex. Out of anger and jealousy, she shooted Layla and Leeds.Leeds shooted back. Layla was seriously injured. Leeds became really over protective and took a great care of Layla. Because of brain injury, the doctors suggest that she is suffering from PTSD. But is that even true?Is that the only reason of Layla's weird behaviours? She has forgotten her most memorable memories with Leeds. How could she??? Leeds takes her back to The Bread and Breakfast. This is the place they first met and fell in love. But Layla doesn't like this place anymore. Now, there is something going on in this resort. Something we can't even imagine....Leeds loves Layla. He was about to propose her for marriage. Then why has he locked her in a room? Why is he called a detective???
I guess I am the only one who is lacking behind. I don't understand what's happening though, Leeds has just started looking into the paranormal stuff.. the story is still a bit weird for me.. the interviewer, the sneaky stuff happening.. I am gonna continue reading and update soon
I never read thriller because I am so scared.. I am so nervous to keep reading.. Leeds has just started talking to that someone on Piano.. I am losing my mind.
Gabi wrote: "Sehrish, keep reading! It doesn't get very spooky but it does keep you guessing."Leeds is acting like an idiot
I also have some mixed feelings about the book. I didn't enjoyed the romance between Layla and Leeds. Everything happened too fast. I even hesitate to call it a True Love.
'We found each other once-when we met. Then we found each other again -after she died.' Didn't feel the bonding. Though I really enjoyed the thrilling paranormal part. In my opinion, the book is a very good paranormal thriller. But the author spent too much time and effort to make us see a lot of romantic 'Layla-Leeds' moments which did absolutely nothing to build the story. Instead it kinda ruined the paranormal thing. I would like the book more if it had more paranormal ghostly part.
Maisha wrote: "I also have some mixed feelings about the book. I didn't enjoyed the romance between Layla and Leeds. Everything happened too fast. I even hesitate to call it a True Love."Same.. I had the exact same feeling and that was the 1st thing that didn't fit well for me in terms of the story.
I am feeling slightly irritated with how Leeds is completely focused on Willow and is so eager to keep talking to her...
Definitely agree with you all. None of the characters were my favourite. I also didn't hate anyone. It's confusing. I care about none of them.
Actually none of the characters were strong enough to catch my attention and build the story. I would love some more character-building. To be really honest, Sable didn't seem a villain to me.
Exactly. I know Leeds was excited and curious to know more about the spirit. But Layla's health and mental condition should be his first priority. (hide spoiler)[ The spirit was Layla. So technically, Leeds was in love with Layla. But he didn't knew that. He thought Layla wasn't enough for him and he used to get irritated with her. Even he used to wait for the moment when she will be gone and Willow will take over her. How this can be true love? It could be possible that Layla truly had PTSD and was really suffering but Leeds just never cared.](hide spoiler)
