I read this book(series?) in 2020 and I remember bits and pieces, the main character (a girl) going to live with a sorcerer when she turns a certain age. She’s got 2-3 brothers and they live with her parents on their farm I believe. And she has to go through trials to prove she can learn magic by earning the trust of a horse, wolf, and owl. There’s a woodland boy as well that she meets, she helps his people and they become friends. There may be other sections of the book where it switches to other pov’s, a reporter who’s coworker ends up being a fairy who used protection spells, and a couple (the lady being pregnant). There’s abandoned military bases that the “bad guys” are using as experiment grounds for the magical people/creatures. There’s a bit where they all create a town together and the fairy coworker makes a tropical area so they can grow crops, but they’re attacked there and the main character girl is very injured. She then leaves the community and lives on some random farm with this dude. She eventually get strong enough to go back and she flies on the horse and does cool magic
