I’ve read quite a few of those books, it’s interesting to read your reviews and see what you think of them. I’ve read a decent ride twice and thought it was amazing first time, was killing myself laughing all through it. 2nd read I didn’t think it was that good. I think Welsh’s recent books have been more far fetched comedies rather transgressive fiction.
You must have liked a 'A Decent Ride' to read it twice, Gerry. Welsh's recent books don't seem quite as bleak as the ones he did back in the day. Maybe we could call them Transgressive comedies.
It was so funny on the first read, the patter in it was tremendous. Not sure why i didn't dig it as much the second time. I think it's hard for Welsh to now write accurately about the Scottish underclass as he's now older and spends much of his time in the States. But I still enjoy his books and transgressive comedies seems a good description. He's got a good short story in the Seal Club.

There's plenty of Transgressive Fiction in here. Click on the links to read my reviews. I hope you find something to add to your TBR. Happy New Year.
