Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ Jenn Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ Schu (jennschureviews) | 0 comments Hello everyone,
I enjoy and read mostly historical fiction, non fiction, mysteries and fantasy genres. I have been wanting to read The Exiles, so I joined to participate in that reading.

Nelson Foley (nelsonkfoley) | 2 comments Hello everyone, from Holland, or The Netherlands to be correct. I am new here, so need to get oriented. Needless to say, I have also written a first novel, but I used my real name, Nelson K. Foley, when most people know me as Keith. Nelson sounds better! And , it has a long family history going back to the Battle of Trafalgar. I am also indirectly related to Arthur Conan Doyle (ACD). His mother was a Foley, and he married my great grandfather's sister - and my great grandfather married Conan Doyle's sister. ACD is not exactly historical fiction, but good literary ancestry.

Kathryn Bashaar | 187 comments Welcome, Nelson! My husband and I were in the Netherlands in 2018 and enjoyed it very much. We would like to come back sometime soon.

Nelson Foley (nelsonkfoley) | 2 comments Just got a nice little push in Reedsy Discovery under best historical fiction, so feeling my way through the publicity minefield.

Gloria Zachgo | 165 comments Hello everyone,
I'm new to the group and feeling my way. Though I've written four novels, only two are in the historical fiction genre. They are especially close to my heart because they are based in the same area of Kansas where I grew up. I'm currently taking time off from my writing to read and enjoy a long series written by another novelist.

Hello all, Stuart here, new to using Goodreads and very new to this or any group. Trying to find my way round and see how this all works - is there a read for Jan 2022 I can jump straight into ?

On the desktop site (I don't know if it shows up on the mobile app) on the group homepage is the current read (Rose Code) -- to its right is a box with the January read in it (Fall of Marigolds)

Don Jr. (wwwdapugnettijrcom) | 22 comments Hello fellow Historical Fictionistas. I’m Don Pugnetti Jr., and I’m grateful to be new member of this group. My home is in the State of Washington of the United States. I have a passion for reading, particularly the genre of historical fiction, and writing, which has been the dominant part of a long career in journalism and public affairs. I’m proud and excited to tell you that I have a book coming out on February 1, 2022. A Coat Dyed Black, a historical novel about a simple Norwegian farmer who is transformed into a resistance fighter after Nazi Germany invades his nation and imposes its tyrannical rule. It is based on true events and real experiences. While dialogue, details, some descriptions and a few events are fictionalized, I attempt to stick to history in an often overlooked part of World War II. Currently the book offered on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. For those of you who want to read it, I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for this opportunity to tell you about my book. Again, I’m so happy to now be a member of this group.

Hi. My name is Barbara Martinez. I'm excited to see what everyone in this group has to say about my favorite genre, historical fiction. My favorites are American historical fiction, especially the 19th century, but am happy to learn about other localities and time periods. I enjoy reading stories of fictional characters who find themselves in the middle of monumental times and how they were affected by the events of their time. I enjoy Civil War era stories, especially ones like The Second Mrs. Hockaday where we learn about the lives of the women who didn't fight the battles but fought to keep the families together.
