Robert Mueller | 2 comments I have gathered a list of a number of the numerous commemorations of military events that take place each year in northern Europe. They are available for viewing on my website at:

In honor of the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, The
National WWII Museum has prepared a special traveling photographic
exhibit - Infamy: December 7, 1941.

Our traveling exhibits make it possible to bring a piece of the Museum
into your community, and they are easy to install anywhere, such as
schools, libraries, community centers, museums and American Legion and
VFW halls.

We also offer a "green option," where you receive all of
the exhibit's images digitally; you can print and mount the
images for display or present them on a projection screen. This option
is not only more affordable, but is also a great alternative for
classrooms, home-schooling and small or non-traditional exhibit
spaces.

Reserve your exhibit by September 30 to take advantage of our special
early bird discount - $99 for the "green option" or
one week free for the regular exhibit!

Patricrk patrick | 79 comments International Conference, December 7-9, 2011

Doolittle Raiders
In addition to Donald L. Miller, Richard Frank, Allan Millett and
other leading historians and veterans, The National WWII Museum has
confirmed the participation of the five surviving members of the
Doolittle Raiders at the International Conference on WWII, December 7
- 9, 2011.

The daring 1942 raid on the Japanese islands - just months after
the attack on Pearl Harbor - was intended to boost U.S. morale
and to stir doubt in the Japanese by exposing their vulnerability.

The conference will be held in conjunction with the 70th anniversary
of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and will focus on events in the
Pacific through Guadalcanal, including the U.S. victory at Midway. The
closing banquet will feature veteran broadcaster Nick Clooney who will
discuss "The Movies that Changed Us."

Find out more about the 2011 International Conference on WWII,
including a full schedule of presenters and conference web streaming
at WW2Conference.com or by calling 504-528-1944 x 511.

we met Hank Potter, navigator for plane #1,
Doolittle's B-25. he was a swell fellow and
real friendly to talk with. he autographed
our program for my wife.

he was an Austin resident and fittingly passed away
on Memorial Day 2002.

carl theaker | 1560 comments This Vet's Day +1 there's a big band dinner dance in
San Marcos, Texas. You know, in case if any of you are in the neighborhood...

It's held in a hanger built in 1943. I'd guess about 1000 folks attend, many in their original uniforms or those doing the period jitterbug fashions.

Even if you're a not a listener of big band music, a live 17 piece orchestra might convert you.

In any case, thought some of you might enjoy
looking around this site for the aircraft.
