Currently reading The Rose Code and now wish I had read it before voting in best historical fiction for the Goodreads Choice Awards. It is very good.

Change of plan due to the fact that I didn't have the book I wanted downloaded when I was out and about-I started Hostage instead. I'm doing my best to listen to A Christmas Carol but I keep falling asleep. Damn Simon Prebble fir his soothing voice 😴

I finished Oracle which was superbly read by Joshua Jackson. It was the first book by Andrew Pyper. I was happy to see that I own another of his books, The Demonologist which has been slated in my road trip challenge, something to look forward to.Next up is Pretty When She Destroys.
Kamala Harris by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara is a colourful look at the current US Vice President. She is a first in so many ways! Little people BIG DREAMS is a great little series of books.

This may help people approach challenging holiday conversations. The graphic publication The Pronoun Book, by Cassandra Jules Corrigan tries to explain how people choose to identify themselves and how we should refer to them and each other.
Bi, non-binary, trans, other gender issues are here. It's certainly a tricky business, and this is one place to start to understand it.

I finished yesterday Leave Only Footprints. It was very interesting and I am glad I decided not to read it from cover to cover, but a few couples at a time in between books. I am now in the hard moment of deciding what I am going to read next. I will take a look at the books I have that are not long enough for challenges.
I just finished The Enemy Within, the enemy being radicalised suburban Muslim youths, local right-wing extremists, and bent Aussie cops. TTake your pick! Journalist Tim Ayliffe knows his stuff. This is January 2020 JUST before Covid hit.

Jayme wrote: "Currently reading The Rose Code and now wish I had read it before voting in best historical fiction for the Goodreads Choice Awards. It is very good."I will have to check it out, Jayme. I loved The Alice Network
I finished At First Light which was one of Amazon's First Reads, published in Dec 2021. I really enjoyed it and glad I chose it.Tonight I start Ray Bradbury's Death Is a Lonely Business.
I finished Under the Whispering Door, I loved it!I also finished the fourth book in the Detective William Warwick series, Over My Dead Body. It was my favorite book in the series, so far.
I listened to a YA audiobook, and I have already forgotten the title.
It was not worth my time listening. It had a beautiful picture of the milky way on it and Six in the title. I only gave it two stars.
I almost finished A Clean Kill in Tokyo today for my yearly challenge. I should be able to finish it tomorrow. I hope to finish A Study in Scarlet Women tomorrow or the next day as well. That will be another off my yearly challenge list! :)
I started The Last House on Needless Street on friday. It's really not what I expected. came close to abandoning it in the first hour but I stuck with it, I'm not sure if I love it but it's unusual .
I am reading The Heron as the final book in the 2021 Museum Yearly Challenge. So far, it’s pretty good. I hope to finish it tomorow.
I thought The Last House on Needless Street was excellent, Margo. It was definitely unusual. I hope you end up being happy you stuck with it.
I’m listening to Year of Yes. Finished listening to A Narrow Door - good listen. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show....I’m going to start How To Live Icelandic.
I've had to put aside The Last House on Needless Street because some of my library books were about to expire. I'm reading The Bastard of Istanbul as quick as I can :-)
I gave up on Death Is a Lonely Business. I can't figure out what is going on - too many similies and metaphors and not enough substance to a plot.I went through a phase where I was combing through kindle for freebies and they've all risen to the top of my to-read list. I'm going to start The Gingerbread Man and hope it's not a dud.
I’m trying to finish a few books before the end of the year. Finished How To Live Icelandic. I loved it! My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...I’m hoping I can finish listening to Year of Yes by December 31. My dilemma now is can I finish an ebook by the end of the year if I start it now?!

I didn't know Iris Apfel's story at all, but Mª Isabel Sánchez Vegara has told it well in the Little People BIG DREAMS series. From childhood, Apfel marched to her own drum, became a fashion icon, and encouraged children everywhere to follow their passions.

The Marriage Test by Suzanne Redfearn is another of the Amazon Original Stories by well-known authors. This test isn't like anything else I've ever heard of!

I finished A Study in Scarlet Women for my museum challenge. (I just have two books left to go!!) I am starting I, Juan de Pareja.
I finished The Girl in the Ice. I really enjoyed it, looking forward to picking up the book each day. Tomorrow I will start Fever Dream. I want to try and get further along in this series.
I listened to a nice Christmas story set in Regency England, Lady Osbaldestone's Christmas Goose, and there are several more in the series, too.
I’m trying to cram in a couple of books that have been on my TBR list since 2015. Finished The Penguin Lessons - aww, so heartwarming, I enjoyed it a lot. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... Next up, I want to dive into The Fur Person - it’s a short one so I think I’ll make it before the end of the year. That will check off the books I’ve had on my list since 2015.
I just finished Crenshaw and was so disappointed.I am wanting to finish all the books I have started before Jan. 1. I have started:
Splintered on audible
Who I Really Am: Diary of a Vampire also on audible
The Boy with the Cuckoo-Clock Heart- Ebook
Rest For The Wicked- kindle ebook

Yes, Patty, I really thought it was both fun and thought-provoking.
The laugh out loud moments were great! I think of it every time I put my mug/with tea bag in the microwave and hit the button. ;o)
I just finished the second book in the Impossible Times trilogy, Limited Wish. Not as much D & D, but the time paradoxes had my head spinning. It looks like I will not be finishing this trilogy before the end of the year, so I will hold the last book over to 2022.I have listened to This Is How You Lose the Time War twice now. It is beautifully narrated, but I am going to read the ebook now, and figure out what I am missing to put the story together.
I just finished I, Juan de Pareja for the yearly challenge. I have just one book left! I am starting Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk for my final book. Next up I am going to read Opal Fire for the monthly challenge. So hopefully I can finish two more books in the next two and a half days before the end of the month!
You’ve got this! I had a bunch to read at the beginning of the month and had to read like crazy! I think we celebrated Christmas in there…
Thanks, Sharon! I've read a lot this month. I think I had 5 left for the yearly at the beginning of the month.
I finished Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk!! Yearly challenge completed! I am starting Opal Fire for the monthly challenge now. :)
Good historical fiction mysteries combine entertainment and history. When Gods Die by C.S. Harris does exactly that in Regency England (early 1800s).

I hope little girls everywhere will be inspired by the Notorious RBG! Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a recent addition to the Little People BIG DREAMS series for children. What a woman she was!
