Yes, Janice. When you buy the whispersync book deal from Kindle, the audiobook shows up in your Audible library.

Thanks Cherie! I'll have to check though, because I have to buy from Amazon.ca. I don't have an Audible.ca account. My account is with Audible.com. That could make a difference.
From Chirp today I got The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
The Marvelous Land of Oz
Island and
The Resurrection of Fulgencio Ramirez
Janice - Yes, that may be an issue. AmyK is the one that has the Kindle account but we share the Audible account. I asked her one day about the new audiobooks I was seeing and she told me about the whisper sync deals. I never made the connection with the Kindle books because my access to her Kindle books had been corrupted on my tablet. I had to re-load the app and beg her for the password. 😊

I thought it was prudent and patriotic of me to pick up today's daily deal, On Writers and Writing. Margaret Atwood is undoubtedly one of Canada's most renown authors.
I've loved some of Astwoods work but others left me cold. She is always surprising though. Hope yours is one of the good ones!
The Best of All Possible Worlds turned up in the mail.Secret Santa gave me a book after something needed to be exchanged and I now have Mythos: The Greek Myths Retold
And found this in a little library yesterday that looked interesting - Rosewater And Soda Bread
Margo wrote: "I've loved some of Astwoods work but others left me cold. She is always surprising though. Hope yours is one of the good ones!"I loved Alias Grace but The Penelopiad was kind of flat for me.
She's an intriguing woman. I've seen videos of her on facebook promoting her master class. She's got a mischievous smile and I think she could be a fun person to be around. Maybe I'll see some of that in her book. Or not. LOL!
I recommend the Oryx and Crake. It's a bit out there but I loved it. I also loved Cat's Eye. Did you do The Penelopiad on audio? I enjoyed the reverse take on the Odyssey but it was very dark.
Alias Grace is one of my favorite Atwood books!I got these from the Audible Sale
The Autobiography of Malcolm X
Almost Everything: Notes on Hope (this one is on my best friend memorial book list)
The Winter of the Witch
Yellow Bird: Oil, Murder, and a Woman's Search for Justice in Indian Country
The Book of Phoenix and
Radical Compassion: Learning to Love Yourself and Your World with the Practice of RAIN
I need to take some time to go through the sale. There are a few I’m interested in, but I always check to see if my library has them first and I try to remember to see if there is a cheap whispersync deal too. I am considering Alias Grace. I used to own the audio, but it was on an app on my super old computer that doesn’t work any more. Unfortunately, none of that stuff is in the cloud so it would be a challenge for me to figure out how to get it all transferred somewhere safe and accessible. I may end up rebuying that one.
I got a whispersync deal today - Murder in Park Lane. It was .99 cents on Amazon and 1.99 on Audible.
I picked up a few whispersync deals today while going through the Audible sale. It was less expensive than the 2 for 1. Wall of Silence
All the Lovely Pieces
Follow You Home
The Lucky Ones
I have made it through the sale now and have 12 books that I'm interested in, but no interest in using 6 credits at the moment. Fortunately, I have some time to think it over.
I'm pre ordering Burning Heat (not in the goodreads yet), the newest work of my favorite author and bought Summer Lemongrass for 80% off. It's teenlit and I know could choose to not pick it but couldn't resist, lol. There'll be another big sale next month and the Before the Coffee Gets Cold which I read for the toppler will be released with a nicer cover! Can't resist the temptation 😭
I think I'm going to give the 2-1 sale a pass. I have 6 credits left until my membership renews in July. I suspect I'll be buying additional credits before then, but for now I will try to conserve them. I have specific books on my "to get" list. The Rose Code is being released tomorrow, and I may as well get Fool's Quest while I'm at it.
Normally I don't worry about how many credits I spend because I get 24 at a time and frequent my library's audio system, but this time I got the sale package so I only got 12 credits for the year. Who knows, I may end up renewing early or something.
I get 24 credits a year. I should be watching my library. It seems Overdrive is favouring audiobooks more than ebooks lately. When I look at the new releases, more of them are audiobooks. Part of my reasoning is that I will eventually read it if I buy it. I might forget all about the book if I'm relying on the library. Silly! How many times have I gotten around to reading a book and wondered by I bought it in the first place.
Hahaha... I always think a book may come in handy for a challenge eventually. I also think I'll forget about it if it's at the library versus in my library, but I don't have the time to read all of the books I want to anyway, so I guess if I forget about one it isn't really a huge loss.
Kristie and Janice - I think it would be so bad for me if I got all my 24 Audible credits at once! As it is I end up buying extra credits at sale times, but getting my credits 2 a month really makes me debate my purchases. I think if I had them all at once I would just make it rain books, lol!
I try to ration myself to spending 2 credits a month, but I'm not always successful. I have 4 credits left and my membership renews in July. I've spent March's credits, so those 4 represent April & May. I will probably end up buy extra credits when I run out, or renew early.

That's still pretty good! I am just bad at long term budgeting. Having too much at once makes me feel like the bounty is endless. It's good I get paid every two weeks and am not a farmer like my husband! He basically only makes money during farmer's market season and has to save money he makes then to pay for the other half of the year.

I look on Amazon for the Kindle edition first. Then, near where you pay (under the buy now button) on the right hand side it will say "Add Audible narration to your purchase for just" $ price. Sometimes it is not worth it at all, but sometimes you can get the audio added for $1.99. It works out well if the book is on sale or included with Prime or Unlimited, if you have those, because you only pay the audio price. A couple of times I've found audio included for free.
I used to buy extra credits a lot, but I've gotten much better about checking for whispersync deals and my library before using credits. I also send requests to my library all the time to get the audio versions of books, so I don't always need to buy them myself.

I used to use the library a lot and then I started buying books instead of checking them out of the library. I know there was an issue with me living outside the city and the fees being quite a bit higher. But I probably would have recouped the fee in a couple of books, but I didn't even consider that option in my young and foolish days.

Ah - I have only found mine on accident when I look at my kindle books I have already bought and there is the whispersync option. I will have to check more often!
There's a way of matching kindle books you own with what's available on whispersync:Click here
I had to bookmark this page because I can never find it when I want it.

Thanks! That is awesome!

Thanks, Janice! I didn't know about that page. I bookmarked it too.My routine - see a book I want on Audible, check if the library has the audio, if no, check if there is a whispersync deal and if it is cheaper than a credit or the sale, get the cheapest version

It's the tricks of the trade to get the best deal.
I got The Murmur of Bees - the ebook on Kindle and the whisper-sync deal to go with it. I was going to use a credit to get the audiobook from Audible, but my daughter checked out the Kindle listing, and it was a better deal than spending a whole credit for just the audiobook. I think the ebook is $1.99 from Kindle (free with Kindle Unlimited) but I am not sure about the whisper-sync deal, it is usually $1.99 too.
I really enjoyed that story Cherie. I do the same thing with whispersync deals. I never buy them unless they're cheaper than a credit. Since Brexit it seems tha prices of kindle books here has gone much higher.
I've noticed the price of Kindles being higher lately too. I've seen a couple higher than the paperbacks, which makes no sense. I've also noticed a lot ore whispersync prices that are higher, which isn't helpful at all when the price of the synced audio alone is higher than a credit.
