Welcome to the Group - Introductions
Welcome, Eva. This is the best "social media" you will ever find. And the bingo is definitely fun.

Hello Eva and welcome. I know what you mean about FB. I severely limited my activities on there a few years ago, and worlds of opportunities opened up! Join any discussion you like. I love Bingo.

Thanks, Lynn! I've really enjoyed looking at the threads and seeing what everyone's reading. It's nice to be among people who read books other than contemporary releases.

I've gone on a bit... sorry - last point, I joined to connect and chat, so hopefully this group does encourage that.
Happy reading, everyone! Meantime I'm half-way through about nine novels, so first thing for me is to finish those :)

Thanks for the warm welcome, Bob. I'm just eyeing-up personal challenges section and may well challenge myself to clear my "currently reading" before starting anything new!
Glad to have you here, Sid. I think you will find lots of places to chat here and to discuss the books you read with others. (Nine at one time! You are industrious! You might want to check out the Chit Chat and All That thread.

Thanks, Sara - will do :) Just "finding my feet" as it were, so building my "Want to read" shelf for later - strictly for later!

This group is a lot of fun. I just started actively participating this year and have already read so many great books that I wouldn’t have chosen on my own. We’ve been having lots of lively discussions about them which has been great!

Hi, Natalie - thanks for the warm welcome :) Well, I hope so! I can be quite chatty and I think there's definitely a pleasure in sharing thoughts about our reading :)
Hi Sid, and welcome to the group. Plenty to read, discuss, and chat about here. Hope you enjoy it.

Hi, Lynn - it's lovely, thanks :) I'm currently re-reading an old classic which was a childhood favourite too: "The Hobbit"!

Sounds great. I recently reread a childhood book that I loved. Anne of Green Gables. It is so nice to revisit those books with adult eyes.

Indeed, besides which Anne of Green Gables is one I've missed-out on and really should visit some time soon :)

Hi, Tara, thanks for the welcome. I'm enjoying it, certainly. I'll find myself tempted to re-read "The Lord of the Rings" when I've finished it, I'm guessing ;-)

Welcome to the group, Lucija. We are glad that you joined us. I look forward to discussing books with you.
Yes, welcome Lucija. I do hope to see you in the threads...I'm a big fan of both classics and historical fiction as well. Always something new to learn about. Check out the challenges...never too late to join in.

Hello, Lucija, and welcome! I only joined a few days ago myself but love it already :) Look forward to your contributions on, I agree, varied discussions!
Hello Licija. I hope you are making yourself at home here. I hope that you find many books you like, and I look forward to discussing them with you.

Hi Michaela, thanks for the welcome! Hope you're enjoying your current reads :)

A warm welcome, Millie, and hopes that I will see you around the threads and we can discuss books together.

Hello Millie, welcome. I see that you joined the Anna Karenina read. I hope you have as much fun here as I do.

I've been an avid reader since I was a little kid, and my all-time favorite book is the classic "The Count of Montecristo".
I always try to read at least one classic a year, but I don't know if it's just me or classics tend to require more of our time and mental energy. I guess this is why sometimes it's easier for me to just pick a more current one when I want to relax.
I'm hoping this group will help me to "catch up on the classics" and offer a place to chat about them with you all.
Just a quick disclaimer: as English is not my first language I'm prone to make mistakes while writing, I hope you can understand

The Count of Monte Cristo is one of my top five favorite books! I love it so much.
Classics are definitely harder to read. I was just laughing about how it took me 2.5 months to get through 750 pages in Portrait of a Lady but I just cruised through this 650 page modern mystery in a few days. 😂

Exactly my thoughts! 😂. It's so hard to read classics at the same pace. Glad I'm not the only one feeling that way.
Welcome, Yami. Never worry about the English thing (although yours seems perfect). I am in awe of those who speak and read multiple languages! Hope you enjoy your reading here and become addicted to the Classics.

Thank you, Sara! I try my best but I know I used to be better at it, now I second guess every line I write haha. Hopefully writing here and reading you will help me practice and improve :)
As for the group, I've already checked the "buddy reads" section and I'm starting Dracula soon. I'm also curious about the bingo, so I might try that as well!

I agree with Sara, your English is very good. Bingo is a lot of fun, so I would encourage you to give it a try.

This group has introduced me to lots of great reads that I wouldn’t have chosen on my own. It’s been a lot of fun!
Goodreads is the only “social media” I use. 😄
Welcome!!!
