Hi everyone! I'm a fan of reading the classics, and looking forward to joining you. Even though I won't have the books until February, I might read some of the January books first, since I'm interested in some of them. Hopefully I'll be able to find the topic threads by the time I'm done! :) The Cider House Rules has been on my TBR for some time, so hopefully I can join for the Long Read this time too.

Hi everyone! My name is Esther. I was in a bad reading slump over the years and had no motivation to read. So I decided to join this club because I wanted books that would uplift me, allow me to think deeply about life, and such. Anyways, thank you to the moderators who created this club for people like me! I can't wait to read the books starting in February, as my goal for this 2023 year is to start rereading classics again :D

I am a lifelong avid reader since the age of 4 when my Mom bought my first "adult book" for me, The Complete Edgar Alan Poe. I like to laugh and say I am the person I am today from reading Poe at 4... smile. I read fiction and enjoy new literature as well as classics. I look forward to participating in this group.

Hello. I'm Nancy, I'm a secondary-school student (I live in London, so I don't really get the whole 'middle-school'/ 'high-school' thing). I love classic literature, especially Jane Austen (all six novels, juvenilia and various biographies have been reread SEVERAL times), but I am currently looking for more obscure classics to get hold of. Much of my time on Goodreads is spent purging Blyton of the 'read' list (courtesy of my eight-year-old sister, who seems to be fully aware of my password every time I try to change it). When I'm not on Goodreads, and I don't have my nose in a book, I'm usually scribbling my own insipid stories and poetry, and then feeling quite rightly ashamed of them, or embroidering (I tried and failed crocheting, and knitting gives me too many granny vibes).
