Wowzer. I'm a little slow. Trying to get close to 30% tonight and halfway tomorrow.

Anyways, the complexity of the environment and characters is refreshing. I'm really enjoying all the backstories and how the families are all intertwined. I do have to periodically look at the appendix to keep up with all the names and families.

I’ve read some reviews saying it’s too complicated but I agree with you. I think it’s really well done and not confusing.

Mindboggling to find out that Caster wasn't able to create a corporeal form for about, what 5 years?! That is mindboggling. I am very intrigued to understand why he was so hesitant to protecting himself from Artemis. (hide spoiler)]

First thoughts - (view spoiler)[I've just completed the prologue and I'm in love!! It featured the old gods being replaced by the new, transformed in their mortal bodies, and much bloodshed.

I loved the inclusion of living lines, dead lines, and the snippet about Zeus too. (hide spoiler)]

This book was so daunting, but once i got into it, I truly enjoyed it.

Ok, so I love the "friendship" that is developing between Miles and Van ;) I also like that Athena is helping Lore, I do not however, like that they are linked, although I guess that benefits both. I started the book again to remind myself of the prologue and have now finally made some progress and read the first chapter too lol. Still enjoying so far and really hoping to finish the book off, this weekend.

I'm mad at myself for putting off starting this one as I'm in love with it now!

First quarter - (view spoiler)[Lore is a badass! I loved how snarky and fierce she remained even when faced with a literal goddess. Athena's arrival prompted her reluctant immersion back into the Agon. (hide spoiler)]

Second quarter - (view spoiler)[The number of gods and those with names/families relating to mythology increased and I started to get a bit overwhelmed in trying to keep everyone straight. Still really enjoying but I've stopped trying to track everything and am just immersing myself in the story now lol.

Castor's meeting with Athena went...okay. She did throw a sharpened broom at his heart but I anticipated more blood shed if I'm being honest. (hide spoiler)]

Third quarter - (view spoiler)[I liked him at first but am unsure about Castor's character at this point. He has had to overcome so much, which makes me sympathetic towards him, but I also don't really feel he cares for Lore at the same level as she does for him.

Lore and Miles friendship though? That's my favourite!

Damn, Gil was Hermes?? I didn't see that coming!

Fourth quarter - (view spoiler)[I loved, loved, loved this! It was so fast-paced and I just tore through it. I didn't really understand all the myth references but understood enough to thoroughly enjoy this. Athena provided the biggest shock for me and I remained in utter adoration with Lore throughout.
