I finally got unblinded today! And I did receive the placebo back in December..."
Darn, and they made you wait this long to tell you? That's terrible. How about the rest of the family? I'm glad you can get the real thing now.

My family got their second shot last Wednesday, so we're all good!
None of us were feeling too worried about waiting this long since my husband and I caught Covid, so we both have antibodies, which can stay in the blood for about 3-7 months. In fact, if I had chosen to get Pfizer or Moderna, the PA I spoke to at the unblinding today said that even if I only got one shot, it would be ok, since getting Covid would have been like getting a shot and the vax would be the booster.
Actually, I don't think I posted it here, but I was scheduled to be unblinded several weeks ago. Unfortunately, my appointment was for the day they "paused" the J&J vaccine, so they cancelled it.

I'm glad you got unblinded. Here you choose whatever the place you go to has. At the time we started, the closest place to us where we could easily make an appointment was Moderna. Many people want to J & J, but my personal comfort level was that if I opted to get the vaccine, I wanted the one that was more effective even if it meant two shots. I didn't worry about blood clots or anything else.
In any event, on May 17 I will be finished my two week waiting period. That said, I am sailing through the worst tree pollen season for me with my anti-allergen masks and my super-duper wrap-around glasses, so I am going to be wearing a mask outdoors all the time except when there is snow on the ground, because mould spores never have an off season.

YAY!! It's a good feeling to have it done . . .

Ahhhh, there you go! That makes sense, then!
And yay for you! Congrats on getting your vaccine! (I was going to say first, but the J&J is only one, isn't it!?)
