When those in charge find out the being is "defective" they want to kill it, but the girl helps it escape and runs away with it. I believe the series has three or four books, the first one had a white cover and they all had capital, bold letters in their titles. I believe one of the character's names was Sedonia? Hope I did this right. Thanks to anyone with info.

I think at one point the teenage girl allows her servant to try on her dress and disguises her for a dinner.
